Abstract

A method for double-family beekeeping includes arranging a basic family and a queen cell for an additional helper family through a blind partition in the same beehive for wintering, spatial separation of families’ brood nests prior to the beginning of the honeyflow period, using the additional helper family for growing an additional bee reserve and a brood for the basic family during honey flow. While wintering, the basic family and the additional helper family are separated by the vertical partition, which is made of material with high heat conductivity, and parts of the beehive are provided by lower bee-entrances of the optimum size, which belong to each family. In doing so additional elements, which exclude convective heat losses, are mounted and the metabolic moisture is transported beyond the ranges of bee nests. Prior the beginning of honeyflow an additional helper family is arranged in a separate beehive and it is used for keeping the active working state of the basic family during honey flow, and at the end of the honey flow the optimum force of the additional helper family for wintering is increased.
