Abstract

A process for the preparation of potassium-magnesium and bischofite from solutions of sulphate chloride type comprises concentration of solution by its evaporation, extraction to the solid phase mixture of scheonite, sodium and potassium chlorides, division of suspension, further drying of sediment with preparation of potassium-magnesium, crystallization of sodium chloride and its separation, further evaporation of solution with crystallization of mixture of potassium-magnesium salts and sodium chloride, final evaporation of solution with crystallization of bischofite. As solution of sulphate chloride type a solution of tailings storage of potassium production is used, concentration of solution by its evaporation is carried out to 29 % with crystallization of sodium chloride and its extraction, further evaporation of solution is carried out in one stage under vacuum, and the evaporated solution is cooled to room temperature with crystallization of mixture of potassium magnesium salts and sodium chloride, which is filtered out and treated with 88 % aqueous solution of isopropyl alcohol with extraction of magnesium chloride to liquid phase and extraction to solid phase mixture of scheonite, sodium and potassium chlorides, and the final evaporation of solution with crystallization of bischofite is carried out by stripping of isopropyl alcohol and water.
