Abstract
A method for making castings in molds of loose sand includes casting molten metal in a mold, hardening, controlled cooling the castings, release of castings from the sand and their air cooling. As a coolant a gravity sand flow of a casting mold is used in the mode of its controlled pouring out from the mold in combination with the release operation of the casting sand.
