Abstract
A unit to separate dirt from tuberous roots comprises a feed conveyer, above the working branch of which a screw conveyer with the horizontal rotational axis is mounted. Behind thereof a pair of driving rollers, arranged one above the other and the feeding conveyer, is installed. The screw is mounted at acute angle to the moving direction of the feeding conveyer and made as a drum on which spiral turns and cleaning resilient elements are fixed. The latters are arranged at the surface of the drum between spiral turns along a helicoidal line, the winding direction of which is opposite to the winding direction of the helicoidal line of spiral turns of the screw. The driving rollers are arranged in parallel to the horizontal rotational axis of the screw.
