Abstract
A method for preventing fire or explosion in the closed protected premises comprises measurement of the concentration of the combustible gases and oxygen and decrease of the oxygen content to the inertisation level relative to the oxygen in environment. Such decreased oxygen content in the premises is set according to the concentration of the combustible gases in the premises. The concentration of the combustible gases is monitored. When the increase of the combustible gases is evident, the fire and explosion protection is provided by decreasing oxygen content and maintaining it within 13.0-13.8 % for 4-6 hours.
