The invention relates to the ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the out-of-furnace treatment of the melt with powder-like reagents. The wire consists of steel shell and powder filling material which contains calcium and silicon. Calcium content in the filling agent is of 36-56 % by weight. Ratio between calcium and silicon is in the range of (0.6-1.3):1, and a ratio between calcium content in the filling agent and content of the filing agent itself in the wire has a value of 0.7-1.2.
