Abstract

The invention relates to the novel substances intended for the medicinal use, in particular in surgery for treating aerobic and anaerobic infections, the complicated wounds, the burns, the neurepathic eschar, and the abscesses. Metrosil belongs to the novel substances based on fine pyrogenic silica, Aerosil (non-proprietary name Silard P) and contains the immobilized Metronidasol. The mixture inhibits effectively anaerobic and aerobic pathogenic bacteria, clears the wound surface, facilitates blood supply of the tissues, decrease the unpleasant putrid smell, especially in anaerobic infections, and possesses the anti-edematous activity.
