The invention relates to basic organic synthesis, namely, to synthesis of methanol on copper-containing catalysts at increased temperature and pressure from mixture of carbon oxides and hydrogen, preferably, from mixture of carbon dioxide and hydrogen. A process is implemented by contacting of mixture of carbon oxides and hydrogen with copper-containing catalyst at increased temperature and pressure in two stages followed by methanol isolation.
