Abstract
A process for the preparation of 1-substituted 2,4-chloro-1H-imidazole-5-carbaldehydes,wherein R=Me, Ph, 4-ClCH, 4-FCH, 2-MeCH, 4-MeCH, 4-MeOCH, consists in that 1-substituted imidazolidine-2,4-diones are subjected to interaction with mixture of dimethylformamide and phosphorus oxychloride in molar ratio of 1:2:5 at 90 °C with further separation of desired products by conventional methods.
