A process for making acrylic coatings and films involves synthesis from comonomers of acrylic polymers in the form of aqueous dispersions, application thereof with simultaneous cross-linking at room temperature by means of crosslinking agent selected from the group of benzene sulphonic acide, hydrogen peroxide, hydrogen peroxide with ferric sulphate (II), boric acid, formation of coatings and films. Methyl acrylate and mixture of butanediol monomethacrylate with butanediol dimethacrylate are used as comonomers.
