The invention relates to agriculture, in particular to the methods for insect control of agricultural crops. Plant protective means are used against caterpillars of insect pests in the periods of most trophic activity thereof. According to the method the period for caterpillars of cabbage white and turnip butterfly is since 9 till 12 o'clock. It is experimentally determined that at this particular period of time caterpillars of white butterflies feed most intensive on the settled plants.
