Abstract

The invention relates to the sphere for preparation of heat-resisting inorganic compounds. The titanium carbide is obtained by thermal treatment of mixture of titaniferous material and carbon in condition of burning. The mixture of initial components is condensed in a cover of graphitized material with continuous evacuation in the argon current of reactionary gases and cooling of the final product in the argon medium under a pressure of 1.1+1.2 atm.
