Application of the method. Upon admission, the patient is examined, X-rays are taken, the eMmo5 T786C gene polymorphism is determined, the content of thrombomodulin, oxyprolin, and SRP is determined by the immunoenzymatic method. A specific example of using the method.

Patient 3., 63 years old, was admitted to the clinic due to pain in the left knee joint. Examined, x-ray taken. No signs of osteoarthritis were found. A homozygous carrier of 786-SS was established, the levels of thrombomodulin - 17 ng/ml, oxyproline - 25 μmol/l, SRP - 16 mg/l. The development of osteoarthritis was diagnosed. After 12 months, X-rays revealed signs of osteoarthritis.

Thus, the proposed method is informative and allows diagnosing the development of osteoarthritis at an early stage.
