Abstract

The technique for correcting the deformity in the patients with microgenia comprises the surgical access, the planar osteotomy of the jaw, the new positioning of the jaw fragments, the fixation of the fragments, and the sewing of the wound. When the planar osteotomy of the jaw is performed, in the external cortical plate in the area of the mandibular fragments the bone counter supports are generated with their basic point arranged in the way providing for the correction of the deformity. The mandibular fragments are repositioned with the juxtaposition of the external counter supports (with accompanying lengthening of the ramus and the body of the mandible as well as the masticatory muscles) fastening the mandibular fragments in their new position.
