Abstract
The invention relates to the field of agricultural Instrumentation and is designed to monitor food quality, for example the quality of melons, in particular the degree of watermelon ripeness, which according to the invention is determined by excitation in watermelon of acoustic vibrations, receiving audio signals, which are the watermelon reaction to acoustic excitation, and analyzing the received signals, with counting at least one of the structural parameters of the statistics of the signal from the watermelon which is tested with comparing it with the same parameter of ripe watermelon, recorded in the memory. According to the degree of similarity of these parameters, a judgment on the degree of maturity of watermelon is made. As the structural parameter of the signal statistics there can be the variance of gaps between the characteristic time moments in the signal, for example, between the signal transition moments through extreme or zero values, or the ratio of counts in the left and right parts of the histogram of the signal received from watermelon.
