Abstract

The method for the surgical treatment of the gingival recession class 1, 2 after Miller comprises V-shaped dissection of the pathologically altered tissue to the level of the alveolar bone, the smoothening of the cement of the root until smooth and dense surface, the cutting of the lateral mucous-periosteal flap in the donor area, its mobilization and translocation to the recession area, and the sewing of the wound. The mucous-periosteal flap is cut without damaging the gingival edge and the rounded ligament of the tooth with the spared gingival area exceeding in the width 6 mm starting from the gingival edge. The flap is turned by about 80° to the recession area.
