Abstract

An invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to methods/variants of molten metal production using unmovable electric noninclinable furnace. The method includes means of electrical heating, moreover an exhaust gas channel and feedstock supply channel are attached to the furnace roof, supply channel is mounted to one end of the furnace looking in the width direction, and mean for electrical heating is installed so that the area of ​​electrical heating were located on the other side of furnace, additional combustion burner is mounted in the furnace roof and the method includes creation of the raw material layer by feeding a particular amount of a carbonaceous material and/or raw material in the form of metal containing agglomerate, moreover the layer of feedstock material has an inclined surface which goes down to the area of electrical heating of the mentioned furnace, further creation of the layer of the feedstock material in the form of metal containing agglomerate on the inclined surface by means of a continuous or a periodical feed of feedstock material from the channel and the subsequent formation of the molten metal layer and the molten slag layer due to the feedstock material melting by means of the electric heating and further pulling down of the layer due to an additional combustion by blowing oxygen-containing gas from the burner and the combustion of that gas containing CO which occurs in this layer. The invention provides the improvement of output suitable for melting of a metal-containing agglomerate and carbonaceous material.
