Abstract

The lid of a beverage can has two punched segments, breaking of which forms the respective openings for allowing the liquid to flow out and the air to enter. Breaking of these punched parts is performed by pivoting upwards a main ring mounted on a rivet of the lid and, after breaking open the punched part, pushing downwards a secondary lever with cutting pressure pieces which cut into the punched parts so as to cause breakage thereof. The said secondary lever is mounted on the same rivet, having an end segment which rests against a stop of the ring in order to prevent in the rest condition the pressure pieces cutting into the punched parts. In another simpler embodiment, the secondary lever is dispensed with, so that the pressure piece is incorporated along the contour of the associated main ring.

Description

The field of technology

The invention relates to a double opening system for beverage cans for punching two holes in the top lid of a container or beverage can in order to allow the outflow of liquid during its consumption and, in turn, for the entry of air to prevent turbulence when the liquid flows out.

Another object of the invention is to enable the user to open the air inlet with minimal effort and, in addition, to prevent accidental opening of the air inlet.

Technical level

Containers or cans with drinks, in general, have a top lid to close them. This lid has a cutout that defines a slack line to receive, when needed, a beverage pouring hole, a rivet for attaching a ring, which is also behind this cutout. The destruction of the cutout leads to the opening, during tilting and pressing of the specified ring on the area of this cutout, which leads to its rupture, and therefore the opening of the can for pouring liquid.

Obviously, when opening or making a hole in this way, in addition to creating a means for the exit of the liquid, it is also necessary to create a means for the entry of air, so that the liquid and air come into contact and the liquid flows out without turbulating the liquid.

The essence of the invention

In order to achieve the stated objectives and avoid the above-mentioned disadvantages, the invention has a new double opening system for beverage cans, which is based on the fact that the main ring, which is used to break the punch made to create an opening for the liquid to escape, has a second lever mounted with the possibility turn on the same rivet that mounts the main ring.

A special feature is that the second lever for breaking the cutout or cutouts, which are located at a distance from the cutout to create an opening for the exit of liquid and which correspond to the opening for the entry of air, is always put into operation after the action of the main ring. A special feature is that the main ring has a wide window, which allows to place in it a lever for breaking the die, which leads to the creation of an air inlet, and the free end of this lever rests on a buffer made on the main ring to prevent the activation of this lever until tearing the punch to create a liquid exit hole, which is created with the help of the main ring.

The second air inlet punching lever, which is mounted on the same rivet as the main liquid outlet punching ring, has one or two pointed hammers for cap piercing. At the same time, in order to minimize the user's efforts, it is necessary that the hammer is centered, since if you press unevenly in the direction perpendicular to the cover, the lever will be twisted and you will not be able to break the punch. Therefore, in the preferred embodiment, two hammers are installed for greater stabilization of the lever when pressed to create an air inlet, while even if one of the hammers is blunt, it serves only to stabilize the mechanism.

The punch or punches, which are used for punching or tearing with the mentioned hammer or hammers, are performed in the form of one punch, located centrally, or in the case of two punches, they are placed on one and the other side of the deep drawing, which ensures the rigidity of the zone and thus prevents protrusion of the lid during opening in the case when two cutouts are made.

The hammer or hammers of the second lever have a cutting profile to start punching the punch and then push the corresponding tab to widen the initial punch and increase the width of the hole.

As previously stated, the main ring, which serves to break the punch to create the liquid outlet, has a buffer for the free end of said second lever, and when the main ring is pulled up to create a corresponding opening during the inclination of the ring, it pulls the said lever with inclination to the point at which the lever is released due to the fact that both elements (ring and lever) have different radii of rotation. Thus, when the main ring is tilted, lifting up, it pulls the lever, which tilts until the end of the lever is released from the buffer, which is made on the main ring for this purpose. Thus, on the one hand, the buffer prevents accidental punching of the punch for air entry, and on the other hand, as soon as the tilt of the main ring has occurred and the hole for the exit of liquid has been created, the lever can be pressed and its hammers can create a corresponding hole.

The buffer, which is designed on the main ring to prevent accidental punching and/or tearing of the cutouts to create a hole or holes for air intake, can be either tilted up or down, and in either case when the main ring is lifted up and tilted it pulls the lever along the ring to the point where the end of the lever is released from the buffer due to the different radii of rotation of the main ring and the lever.

In one embodiment, the buffer can be in the form of a bracket at the end of the main ring, while in addition to the functions of the buffer itself, it allows the user to insert the end of the finger to facilitate pulling or pushing up the main ring.

The location and design of the second lever allows the user to increase the force to break the punch to create an air inlet. Such increased effort is achieved using the idea of a lever.

In a simpler embodiment, the second lever is absent. In this case, the main ring has a lower end portion that will press against the surface outlined by the cutout in the lid, tearing it open and thus creating an air inlet, after previously creating a liquid outlet.

Description of the preferred embodiment

As can be seen from the above drawings, the double-opening system for beverage cans according to the invention consists of a main ring 1, with the help of which the cutout 2, which is made in the lid of the container or can, is torn or cut. Moreover, the cutout 2, which defines the border of the tongue 4, which, when the main ring 1 is turned on the rivet 5, which is a mounting element, weakens when moved inward and breaks, forming an opening for the exit of liquid.

On the same rivet 5, which serves for tilting and mounting the main ring 1, a second lever 6 with split hammers 7 is mounted. The lever is placed in the window in the main ring 1, which is created for this purpose. At the end of the lever 6 there is a narrower small section 8, which rests on the buffer 9, which departs from the main ring 1 (see Fig. 1, C and 4), while in the resting position the main ring 1 usually remains adjacent to the upper surface cover 3, and the end section 8 of the lever b rests on the vertical ear of the buffer 9, preventing the hammer 7 from falling on the cover 3. On the cover C, cutouts 10 are made, the destruction or tearing of which, which will be explained later, leads to the formation of air inlets, which allows to consume a liquid in a can or container with the simultaneous entry of air through these holes, which are formed by the separation of the tabs limited by the cutouts 10. These tabs are at a distance from the cutout 2, which corresponds to the opening for the exit of the liquid, which makes it impossible for this liquid to exit through the holes from the cutouts 10 when consumption occurs.

The main ring 1, namely its buffer 9, blocks the movement of the lever 6 with the corresponding cutting hammers 7, which is necessary to ensure the movement of the main ring 1 up to destroy or tear the notch 2, which corresponds to the opening of the liquid outlet. When the main ring 1 tilts, it pulls the lever b, which also tilts forward, turns on the rivet 5 and is released from the buffer 9, due to the fact that the main ring 1 and the lever b have different turning radii. Therefore, as soon as an opening for the exit of liquid is formed when the ring 1 is pressed down, the lever 6 is pulled and the hammers 7 act on the cutouts 10 and cut out the corresponding holes for air entry.

Between the cutouts 10, to ensure greater strength of the cover surface, a deep hood 11 is made (Fig. 2).

In fig. 5, 6 and 7 show an embodiment of the buffer for the end section 8 of the lever 6. In this case, the buffer is formed by a lug 9", which is tilted downward to create a ledge for the edge of the end section 8, which will initially hold this section, and therefore the lever b , until it is released when the ring 1 is tilted forward. Fig. b shows the point when the ring is turned or tilted, at which the above-mentioned release occurs. In this embodiment, the second lever b remains located almost horizontally (Fig. b) with less risk accidental activation or accidental pressing Additionally, as can be seen in Fig. 5, the design is different from the design in the previous figures, as the main ring 1 has a two-petal shape and a large window, and the secondary lever 6 has an oval shape and also has a window.

The second air intake lever can be made of aluminum or even stamped iron strip, with the feature that it is pre-bent 10" directly above the rivet 5, where the part to provide the bent axis is reduced, and the hammers 7 of the lever 6 are bent at 90" relative to the upper surface of the lever 6.

Finally, it must be said that the buffer for the second lever 6, instead of being formed in the form of an eye, is made in the form of a U" bracket at the end of the main ring 1, allowing the end of a finger to be placed under this bracket 9" to facilitate the activation or upward push of the ring 1 when opening a can or container with a drink.

In fig. 9 and 10 show a simpler embodiment that has fewer advantages than those shown in the previous figures.

In this embodiment, the main ring 1" does not have a second lever 6, therefore, in this case, the main ring 1 has a lower end part in the form of a hammer 7", directed downwards, which will contact the area of the lid that is outlined by the cutout 10", breaking it and opening suitable opening for air intake.

As in the previously described embodiment, in the case of the simplified embodiment (Fig. 9-13), the cutting of the cutout 10' occurs after the main ring 1' is tilted upwards to create an outlet for the liquid by tearing the material that outlines the tongue 4. When the main ring 1 is tilted downward in its initial position and pressed on its end, where the lower end part of the hammer 7 of the specified ring 1" is located, the hammer will press on the area outlined by the above-mentioned cutout 10", destroying it and thus opening the air inlet.

In fig. 14 and 15 show a third, more preferred embodiment, where, as in the embodiments of fig. 1-8, there is a second lever 6, which has a central bent characteristic element 12, formed by two downwardly converging faces and which define the boundaries of a downwardly projecting auxiliary part, which creates a corresponding hammer 7", which faces the notch 10", the destruction of which creates air inlet.

The second lever 6' also includes an end section 8' of a characteristic angular configuration, which will rest on the buffer 9' of the main ring 1".

The main ring 1" around the perimeter has a characteristic peripheral thickening of a more ergonomically rounded cross-section, the continuity of which is interrupted by a narrow part 13, which facilitates the beginning of the lifting of the main ring 1".

In fig. 16 shows a convexity 14 in the form of a spherical head, limited by a cutout 10", which corresponds to the entry of air into the can.

This bulge is also suitable for the 10-10' cutouts of the other two embodiments.
