Abstract

The invention relates to control of parameters in the process of destruction of materials with instruments and can be used as well for investigation of the mechanism of destruction of friable, elastic-friable, solid and superhard materials. A method for the determination of working capacity of the instrument for destruction of friable, elastic-friable, solid and superhard materials involves selection of current criteria of working capacity, setting the reference values of those and determination of working capacity of instrument with comparison of current values of criteria to the reference values of those. A fragment of destroyed material (cuttings) and the nucleus at the back part of the fragment is taken as a reference criterion. The fragment shape is close to triangular and includes the imprint of the destroying indenter with which the instrument is equipped, and reference fragments are compared to the current fragments of material by configuration.
