Abstract

The invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, in particular to electrometallurgy and can be used for the production of manganese ferrosilicon in the ore reducing furnaces. Charge for smelting manganese ferrosilicon contains commercial high-carbon ferromanganese (75-82 wt. % Mn, 6 wt. % Si, 7 wt. % C) and/or recycling high-carbon ferromanganese (72-80 wt. % Mn, up to 10 wt. % Si, up to 6 wt. % C) as a manganese containing component, carbon reducing agent, quartzite and flux at the following ratio of components, wt. %:In addition, industrial waste production can be used as the manganese containing component of the charge, in particular, screening of fractionation of commercial and/or processing high-carbon ferromanganese of fraction less than . The invention provides increasing of silicon extraction in manganese ferrosilicon, lowering the consumption of carbon reducing agent and decreasing power consumption for producing thereof.
