Abstract

Method for determination of porosity of material includes scanning micro-calorimetry and thermodynamical analysis of process of crystallization of porous liquid on basis of thermograms of cooling porous material. Porous material after evacuation is saturated wit liquid with known values of heat capacity, molar volume, change of entropy at crystallization and free surface energy at boundary “liquid – solid body”, it is sealed in hermetic capsule, cooled and by determined values of temperature of crystallization and heat of phase transition “liquid – solid body” one determines respective dimensions and volumes of pores. The invention can be used in physical chemistry for study of different sorbents, building materials and other porous substances.
