Abstract

The method for treating convexity supratentorial meningioma comprises the spiral computed tomographic angiography prior to the surgery for the exact location of tumor, the measurement of its size, the assessment of the involvement of dura mater of brain and the source of blood supply. The resection of tumor is provided with the aid of neuronavigation system based on CT angiography findings. The trepanation size exceeds the margins of the affected dura mater of brain by 2 cm. The free bone flap is used. The openings are cut with a bur at the site of blood vessels supplying the tumor. These vessels are coagulated providing the early devascularization of tumor making easier its resection and reducing blood loss.
