Abstract
An instrumental method for the determination of fabric softness degree involves the determination of fabric softness using quantitative measures and device for the determination fabric softness made with body whereon an indicator for thickness measuring is rigidly fixed. The indicator is connected to measuring rod at which upper part a platform is fixed, this is made so that plummets can be placed thereon. A pressure element with horizontally oriented pressure platform is rigidly fixed to lower end of measuring rod. An operating component with external flat working surface parallel to pressure platform, thickness measuring indicator is set to zero when pressure platform contacts with working surface of operating component. Thereafter a single sample is arranged between pressure platform and working surface, and pressure platform is lowered down thereon. Single sample fabric is compressed between pressure platform and working surface, and set of measurements of single sample fabric thickness is performed. Set of measurements of single sample fabric thickness is performed on the cross of selected single samples with recording measurement results for further mathematical calculations. Deformation arithmetic mean values are calculated using obtained measurement results, dependence curve is plotted; mathematical expression of compression curves and integrating thereof is performed, results obtained are compared with experimentally determined fabric softness degree value range.
