Abstract

The method for the assessment of the extent of mini-invasive intervention in treatment of the varicose in the lower extremities, stage C4-C6 according to CEAP with involvement of the saphenous veins consists in applying the tourniquet at the lower point of the pathologic venous reflux under sonographic control until the complete obstruction of the lumen of the saphenous vein. Then the patient performs the exercise (10-min walking) and the blood flow is assessed sonographically. When the reflux in varicose inflow vessels is absent, the mini-invasive intervention in the form of radiofrequency ablation is provided. When the reflux is evident, the combination of the radiofrequency ablation and miniflebectomy is performed.
