The method for the provisional closure of the abdominal cavity in the multistage surgery comprises the visualization assessment of the pathology, the sanitization and the draining of the abdominal cavity. Then the visceral organs are covered with the sterile perforated polyethylene film. The skin of the patient is dried by one-minute treatment with 70 n% ethanol wherein ЗМ™ Ioban™ film (USA) is used for the fixation of the edges of the defect. The film is stuck onto the skin surrounding the abdominal defect adjusting the distance between the edges of the wound depending on the intraperitoneal pressure allowing for distributing evenly the pressure inside abdominal cavity.
