Abstract

A sheathed wood-polymer material and method of its manufacturing relates to the production of wood-polymer material from crushed wood and thermoplastic polymers. The novelty consists in that the sheathed wood-polymer material comprises one or two outer facing layers and one inner layer, wherein the inner layer is a wood-polymer compound, in which the part of wood particles is 60 %, and recycled polyethylene – 40 %, and for surface finishing the material as an outer facing layer the sheets of peeled or sliced veneer, or synthetic veneer, or plastic film, or shredded waste is recycled polyethylene are used. A method for manufacturing sheathed wood-polymer material comprises grinding and drying wood particles, mixing them with a secondary polyethylene, molding wood-polymer compound, forming a wood-polymer carpet or a briquette, its hot pressing and cooling the resulting wood-polymer material. Molding the wood-polymer compound and its loading in the press for hot pressing is carried out together with facing layer(s), where they are subject to simultaneous compaction and facing.
