Abstract

A pet potty including a base and a container is provided. The base includes an accommodation space and an outlet, and the outlet is connected to the accommodation space. The container is detachably disposed on the base and includes a plurality of drainage holes. When the container is disposed on the base, part of the container is located in the accommodation space and the drainage holes are communicated to the container space.

Pet potty

This invention relates to a potty, and more particularly to a pet potty.

Modern pet litter boxes require users to empty them after collecting liquids (such as urine or waste generated during cleaning) to prevent liquid residue from remaining inside. During emptying, liquid can easily splash and contaminate the surrounding environment, making the litter box inconvenient to use.

This invention provides a pet litter box that is easy to use.

The pet litter box of this invention includes a base and a receiving element. The base includes a receiving space and a drain hole connected to the receiving space. The receiving element is detachably disposed on the base and includes multiple drain holes. When the receiving element is disposed on the base, a portion of the receiving element is located in the receiving space and these drain holes are connected to the receiving space.

Based on the above, the receiving component of the pet litter box of this invention is connected to the receiving space of the base and the drain hole through a drain hole. Liquid located in the receiving component (e.g., pet urine or waste liquid generated when cleaning the pet litter box) can be automatically discharged from the pet litter box through the drain hole, thereby improving the convenience of using the pet litter box.

Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a pet litter box according to an embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the pet litter box of Figure 1. Some components are omitted in Figures 1 and 2 for ease of component description. Figure 3 is an exploded view of the pet litter box of Figure 1. Figure 4 is an exploded view of the pet litter box of Figure 3 from another perspective. Referring simultaneously to Figures 1 to 4, the pet litter box 100 includes a base 110 and a receiving member 120. The base 110 includes a receiving space P1 and a drain hole 111, the drain hole 111 communicating with the receiving space P1. The receiving member 120 is detachably disposed on the base 110 and includes a plurality of drain holes 121. When the receiving member 120 is disposed on the base 110, a portion of the receiving member 120 is located in the receiving space P1 and the drain holes 121 are connected to the receiving space P1. The pet litter box 100 of this embodiment may be a cat litter box, and the receiving member 120 may be used to hold a cat litter (not shown) and receive the pet's excrement (e.g., urine and/or feces).

A liquid (e.g., pet urine or waste generated during cleaning of the pet litter box 100) located within the containment 120 is discharged through the drain holes 121 into the receiving space P1 of the base 110 and discharged from the pet litter box 100 through the water outlet 111. The liquid within the containment 120 can be automatically discharged through the drain holes 121 and the water outlet 111 to improve the ease of use of the pet litter box 100.

As shown in Figure 2, the receiving member 120 includes a bottom surface 122 on which drainage holes 121 are formed. The bottom surface 122 includes at least one inclined surface, and the drainage holes 121 are located in the portion of the bottom surface 122 closest to the base 110. In this embodiment, the bottom surface 122 includes multiple inclined surfaces 1221, 1222, making the bottom surface 122 funnel-shaped. The receiving member 120 guides liquid in the receiving member 120 to the drainage holes 121 via the inclined bottom surface 122. Cat litter placed in the receiving member 120 may include a bactericidal component to sterilize the liquid before it passes through the drainage holes 121. In an embodiment not shown, the drainage holes 121 may be located at any position on the bottom surface 122.

The accommodating space P1 of the base 110 is formed by a main recess 112 recessed from a top surface S1 of the base 110. The base 110 includes an inner baffle wall 113, and the main recess 112 includes a bottom surface S2. The inner baffle wall 113 is connected to the bottom surface S2 and located in the accommodating space P1, and the inner baffle wall 113 encloses a region P2. When the accommodating member 120 is disposed on the base 110, the inner baffle wall 113 surrounds the orthographic projection of the drain holes 121 onto the base 110. That is, the drain holes 121 correspond to the region P2. A deodorizing element (not shown) can be placed in the region P2. When liquid enters the base 110 from the drain holes 121, the liquid enters the region P2 and contacts the deodorizing element for deodorization. After sterilization and deodorization, the liquid can be discharged from the pet litter box 100 through the drain hole 111 of the base 110. Since these drain holes 121 correspond to area P2, the user only needs to install the deodorizing device in a specific area P2, thereby reducing the size of the deodorizing device and lowering costs.

The inner baffle 113 has an opening 1131, which corresponds to the water outlet 111 of the base 110. The sterilized and deodorized liquid can leave area P2 through the opening 1131 and flow into the water outlet 111. The bottom surface S2 of the base 110 is an inclined surface to further guide the liquid to the water outlet 111. The inner baffle 113 of this embodiment includes a first portion 1132 and a second portion 1133, with a gap G1 between the first portion 1132 and the second portion 1133. The liquid can leave area P2 through the gap G1 and be guided to the water outlet 111 by the inclined bottom surface S2. The opening 1131 is located in the first portion 1132.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the pet potty 100 further includes a piping assembly 130. The piping assembly 130 connects to a drain outlet 111 and a drain cover 200. The piping assembly 130 includes a pipe 131, a connector 132, and a positioning member 133. The connector 132 has an inner pipe 134 communicating with the drain outlet 111, and the positioning member 133 passes through the connector 132 and the drain cover 200. The pipe 131 communicates with the drain outlet 111 and the connector 132. The drain cover 200 includes a plurality of holes 201, and the orthographic projection of a drain outlet 1341 of the inner pipe 134 onto the drain cover 200 corresponds to at least a portion of these holes 201. In this way, the sterilized and deodorized liquid in the base 110 can be directly discharged into the sewer through the pipe assembly 130 and the drain cover 200, thereby improving the ease of use of the pet potty 100.

As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the connector 132 includes a through hole 135. The positioning member 133 includes a head portion 1331 and a neck portion 1332 connected together, the width of the head portion 1331 being greater than the width of the neck portion 1332. The neck portion 1332 passes through the through hole 135, and one end E of the neck portion 1332, away from the head portion 1331, is connected to one of the holes 201 of the drain cover 200. The positioning member 133 is, for example, a screw, and the connector 132 is L-shaped, but not limited thereto. Figures 1 and 2 schematically illustrate a rectangular drain cover 200 and rectangular holes 201, but the shape of the drain cover 200 and holes 201 is not limited to this embodiment. The drain cover 200 can be any commercially available drain cover. The conduit 131 is, for example, a plastic hose. In an embodiment not shown, the conduit assembly 130 may consist only of a connector 132 and a positioning member 133, with the connector 132 being directly connected to the drain hole 111 of the base 110.

As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the pet potty 100 further includes a stop 140, and the base 110 includes an opening 114 located on the top surface S1. In this embodiment, the widths of the opposite ends 141 and 142 of the stop 140 are different. End 141 of the stop 140 is detachably connected to the drain hole 111, and the width of end 141 is smaller than the width of the opening 114, while the width of end 142 is larger than the width of the opening 114. The width of the stop 140 gradually increases from end 141 to end 142. The material of the stop 140 may include silicone, but is not limited to it. The stopper 140 can be connected to the outlet 111 to block the outlet 111, or it can be placed in the opening 114.

When the stopper 140 is removed from the drain hole 111 and placed in the opening 114, the drain hole 111 can be connected to the piping assembly 130. The cat litter placed in the container 120 can be washable and reusable eco-friendly cat litter. Users can rinse the cat litter for reuse, and the waste liquid generated during the rinsing process can be discharged from the base 110 through the drain hole 111. According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture of Taiwan in 2024, the number of pet cats in Taiwan will exceed 1.5 million, thus greatly increasing the consumption of cat litter. Commercially available cat litter is limited to single use and cannot be recycled, and the disposal of commercially available cat litter is extremely damaging to the environment. Based on the calculation that a cat produces 5 kilograms of waste litter per month, approximately 7,500 tons of waste litter are generated monthly, which has a significant impact on the environment. In this embodiment, by using pet litter boxes 100 with washable and reusable eco-friendly cat litter, the waste generated after cat litter use can be greatly reduced, thereby achieving the effect of environmental protection.

When the stop 140 is positioned at the water outlet 111, the water outlet 111 cannot be connected to the pipeline assembly 130. The cat litter placed in the container 120 can be commercially available cat litter (e.g., mineral sand or wood chips), and the pet litter box 100 can be used as a commercially available pet litter box.

The pet litter box 100 further includes a clamp 150, and the base 110 includes a clamp opening 115 located on the top surface S1. The clamp 150 is detachably disposed in the clamp opening 115. The clamp 150 can be used to hold the pet's excrement (e.g., feces). When not in use, the clamp 150 can be placed in the clamp opening 115, and a protrusion 151 of the clamp 150 can abut against the base 110. In this embodiment, there are two clamp openings 115, and the user can place the clamp 150 in one of the clamp openings 115 according to their usage habits or the direction of the pet litter box 100 against the wall to facilitate the pet's movement.

The base 110 further includes an auxiliary groove 116 recessed from the top surface S1, the auxiliary groove 116 being located between the two clamp openings 115, but not limited thereto. The user can place a plastic bag or a piece of toilet paper (not shown) into the auxiliary groove 116 so that the user can clean up the feces in the container 120. For example, when cleaning up pet feces, the user first places toilet paper or a plastic bag into the recessed area (i.e., the auxiliary groove 116), and uses the clamp 150 to clamp the feces from the container 120 into the bag placed in the auxiliary groove 116. After the feces in the container 120 are cleaned up, the plastic bag containing the feces or the feces wrapped in toilet paper is discarded and thrown directly into the toilet.

Furthermore, as shown in Figure 1, the base 110 includes a groove 117, and the receiving member 120 includes a handle portion 123 corresponding to the groove 117. When the receiving member 120 is placed on the base 110, a gap G2 exists between the groove 117 and the handle portion 123. The user can easily reach into the gap G2 to grasp the handle portion 123, thereby removing and placing the receiving member 120 to facilitate cleaning the basin or replacing the deodorizing component.

The shape and function of the base 110 are not limited to this embodiment. For example, in an embodiment not shown, the base 110 may be a toilet. The container 120 may be placed on the toilet seat of most commercially available toilets, which is an additional function of the pet potty 100. When the container 120 is placed on the toilet, the handle 123 facilitates the removal of the container 120 from the toilet. The container 120 can also be used as a toilet trainer for training pets to use the toilet. The container 120 may be placed on the toilet first to accustom the pet to using the toilet, and after successful training, the container 120 may be removed so that the pet can use the toilet directly.

In summary, the receiving component of this novel pet litter box is connected to the receiving space of the base and the drain hole through a drain hole. Liquids located within the receiving component (e.g., pet urine or waste generated during cleaning of the pet litter box) can be drained from the pet litter box through the drain hole. The liquids within the pet litter box can be drained, thereby improving the ease of use of the pet litter box.

Claims (10)

A pet litter box includes: a base including a receiving space and a drain hole connected to the receiving space; and a receiving member detachably disposed on the base and including a plurality of drain holes, wherein when the receiving member is disposed on the base, a portion of the receiving member is located in the receiving space and the drain holes are connected to the receiving space. The pet potty as claimed in claim 1 further includes a piping assembly connected to the water outlet and a drain cover. The pet litter box as claimed in claim 2, wherein the piping assembly includes a connector and a positioning member, the connector having an inner pipe communicating with the drain hole, and the positioning member passing through the connector and the drain hole cover. The pet litter box as described in claim 3, wherein the piping assembly further includes a pipe connecting the drain hole and the connector. The pet potty as claimed in claim 3, wherein the drain cover includes a plurality of holes, and the orthographic projection of an inner pipe outlet of the inner pipe onto the drain cover corresponds to at least a portion of the holes. The pet potty as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base includes an inner baffle wall that, when the receiving member is disposed on the base, surrounds the drain holes in the orthographic projection of the base. The pet potty as described in claim 6, the base includes a bottom surface, the inner baffle wall is connected to the bottom surface, and the bottom surface is an inclined surface. The pet potty as claimed in claim 1, wherein the receiving member includes a bottom surface, the drain holes being formed on the bottom surface, the bottom surface including at least one bevel. The pet litter box as claimed in claim 1 further includes a clamp, the base including a clamp opening, the clamp being detachably disposed in the clamp opening. The pet potty as claimed in claim 1 further includes a stop member detachably connected to the drain hole.
