Abstract

The present invention relates to a cable connector comprising an insulative housing, and a plurality of contacts, a metal shell and a PCB fixed on the housing. The housing includes a tongue having a mating portion extending therefrom. The contacts include a first contact group and a second contact group. The first contact group has a first flat contacting arm, a first retaining portion and a first soldering leg connecting with the first retaining portion. The second contact group has a second flexible contacting arm, a second retaining portion and a second soldering leg connecting with the second retaining portion. The second contact group includes two pairs of differential signal contacts and a ground contact located between the two pairs of differential signal contacts, the second soldering legs have a ground soldering leg provided on the ground contact. The PCB includes a first soldering region for connecting with mating cables and a second soldering region for connecting with the first and the second soldering legs. The first soldering region includes a plurality of rear soldering portions, the second soldering region includes a plurality of front soldering portions comprising a ground plate for connecting with the ground soldering leg, the rear soldering portions have at least two ground branches spaced from each other to connect with the ground plate, thereby improving the efficiency of soldering process and reducing the assembly cost.
