Abstract

A connector includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts retained in the insulative housing, an optical module for transmitting optical data and a shell covering the insulative housing. The insulative housing has a slot, and a groove behind the slot and communicating with the slot. The optical module includes a base sliding in the slot along a front-back direction and a fiber retained in the base. The connector further includes a coil spring sandwiched between the base and the insulative housing. The coil spring has a front end abutting against a rear end of the base. The insulative housing has a protrusion protruding into the groove to abut against the coil spring.
