Abstract

Disclosed is an infrared thermal imaging system with tin whisker detection capability comprising: a detecting rod, an illuminating device, a camera, a controller and a display screen. The illuminating device and the camera are arranged on a casing inserting section of the detecting rod. The camera is used to photograph the interior of a casing to generate a detection image and an infrared thermal image. The control device receives the detection image and the infrared thermal image from the camera, and displays them on the display screen. Since the diameter of the casing inserting section is not more than 2.5 cm, it can be inserted through the holes of the casing into the switchboard, so that the infrared thermal imaging system of the present invention can detect tin whiskers without opening the casing.
