Description

Touch control system and operation method for touch control system

The present invention relates to a touch control system and an operating method for the touch control system, and in particular to a touch control system including a touch tool and a touch panel and an operating method for the touch control system.

RA。FIG1 is a schematic diagram of the operation of a conventional touch control system. The conventional touch control system 10 may include a touch tool 11 (e.g., a touch pen) and a touch panel 12. The user holds the touch tool 11 to perform operations such as writing and drawing on the touch panel 12. The touch tool 11 may receive an uplink signal provided by the touch panel 12, and provide a downlink signal based on the uplink signal. The touch panel 12 may obtain a sensing area RA of the touch tool and the touch panel based on the downlink signal.

However, when the palm, finger or wrist of the user approaches or touches the touch panel 12, the uplink signal is coupled to the touch tool 11 through the sensing area RB and the palm, finger or wrist. The uplink signal from the sensing area RB is regarded as noise. The uplink signal from the sensing area RB reduces the ability of the touch tool 11 to analyze the uplink signal from the sensing area RA. Therefore, the touch tool 11 may not be able to provide the downlink signal correctly.

The present invention provides a touch control system and an operating method for the touch control system, which can maintain the analysis capability of the touch control tool for uplink signals.

The touch system of the present invention includes a touch tool and a touch panel. The touch tool provides a downlink signal based on a first uplink signal. The touch panel includes a plurality of touch sensing electrodes. The touch panel determines whether a sensing area sensed by the touch tool exists based on the downlink signal. When the sensing area does not exist, the touch panel provides a first uplink signal to the plurality of touch sensing electrodes. When the sensing area exists, the touch panel provides a first uplink signal to the sensing area, and provides a second uplink signal to at least part of the touch sensing electrodes outside the sensing area. The first uplink signal is different from the second uplink signal.

The operating method of the present invention is used for a touch system. The touch system includes a touch tool and a touch panel. The touch panel includes a plurality of touch sensing electrodes. The operating method includes: the touch panel determines whether a sensing area sensed by the touch panel and the touch tool exists according to a downlink signal; when the sensing area does not exist, the touch panel provides a first uplink signal to the plurality of touch sensing electrodes; when the sensing area exists, the touch panel provides a first uplink signal to the sensing area, and provides a second uplink signal to at least part of the touch sensing electrodes outside the sensing area, wherein the first uplink signal is different from the second uplink signal; and the touch tool provides a downlink signal in response to the first uplink signal.

Based on the above, when the touch panel and the sensing area sensed by the touch tool exist, the touch panel provides a first uplink signal to the sensing area and provides a second uplink signal to other areas outside the sensing area. The touch tool provides a downlink signal based on the first uplink signal. In this way, the touch tool will not be interfered by the second uplink signal and can maintain the ability to analyze the first uplink signal.

In order to make the above features and advantages of the present invention more clearly understood, embodiments are specifically cited below and described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Some embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. When the same element symbols appear in different drawings, they will be regarded as the same or similar elements. These embodiments are only part of the present invention and do not disclose all possible implementations of the present invention. More precisely, these embodiments are only examples within the scope of the patent application of the present invention.

Please refer to FIG. 2, which is a schematic diagram of a touch control system according to an embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the touch control system 100 includes a touch control tool 110 and a touch panel 120. The touch control tool 110 is, for example, a touch pen (e.g., an active capacitive touch pen). The user holds the touch control tool 110 to perform operations such as writing and drawing on the touch panel 120.

SUPL2。In the present embodiment, the touch tool 110 provides a downlink signal SDPL according to a first uplink signal SUPL1. The touch panel 120 includes a touch sensing electrode group TEG formed by a plurality of touch sensing electrodes. The touch panel 120 determines whether a sensing area RA sensed by the touch panel 120 and the touch tool 110 exists according to the downlink signal SDPL. When the sensing area RA does not exist, the touch panel 120 uses the first uplink signal SUPL1 to scan the plurality of touch sensing electrodes of the touch sensing electrode group TEG. On the other hand, when the sensing area RA exists, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the sensing area RA, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to at least part of the touch sensing electrodes outside the sensing area RA. In this embodiment, the first uplink signal SUPL1 is different from the second uplink signal SUPL2.

In this embodiment, “other areas” include unsensed areas and other sensing areas other than the sensing area RA.

SUPL1。In this embodiment, the touch panel 120 determines whether the sensing area RA exists according to the reception result of the downlink signal SDPL. In other words, when the touch panel 120 does not receive the downlink signal SDPL through the touch sensing electrode group TEG, the touch panel 120 determines that the sensing area RA does not exist. Therefore, the touch panel 120 generates the first uplink signal SUPL1 and provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the touch sensing electrode group TEG.

SUPL2。On the other hand, when the touch panel 120 receives the downlink signal SDPL through the touch sensing electrode group TEG, the touch panel 120 determines that the sensing area RA exists and obtains the position of the sensing area RA (i.e., the position of the touch tool 110). The touch panel 120 determines the area of at least one touch sensing electrode that receives the downlink signal SDPL as the sensing area RA. Therefore, the touch panel 120 generates a first uplink signal SUPL1 and a second uplink signal SUPL2. The touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the touch sensing electrode corresponding to the sensing area RA, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other areas outside the sensing area RA.

SUPL1。In this embodiment, once the position of the sensing area RA is determined, the touch panel 120 will track the position of the sensing area RA to provide the first uplink signal SUPL1.

SDPL。Please refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 at the same time. FIG. 3 is a flow chart of an operation method according to an embodiment of the present invention. The operation method is applicable to the touch system 100. In this embodiment, in step S110, the touch panel 120 determines the sensing area RA sensed by the touch panel 120 and the touch tool 110. The touch panel 120 obtains the determination result in step S120. When the touch panel 120 determines in step S120 that the sensing area RA does not exist, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the plurality of touch sensing electrodes in step S130. When the touch panel 120 determines that the sensing area RA exists in step S120, the touch panel 120 provides a first uplink signal SUPL1 to the sensing area RA in step S140, and provides a second uplink signal SUPL2 to at least a portion of the touch sensing electrodes outside the sensing area RA. After steps S130 and S140 are completed, the touch tool 110 responds to the first uplink signal SUPL1 to provide a downlink signal SDPL in step S150.

Next, the implementation details of step S130 are further illustrated. Please refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 4A at the same time. FIG. 4A is an operation schematic diagram according to step S130. In this embodiment, a plurality of touch sensing electrodes TE of a touch sensing electrode group TEG are grouped into a plurality of touch sensing electrode groups. Taking this embodiment as an example, the electrode rows C1~C4, C9~C12 in the touch sensing electrode group TEG are grouped into a first touch sensing electrode group TEG1. The electrode rows C5~C8, C13~C16 in the touch sensing electrode group TEG are grouped into a second touch sensing electrode group TEG2. In step S130, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1 during period PT1. In addition, the touch panel 120 also provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups (i.e., the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2) during period PT1. The touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2 during period PT2. In addition, the touch panel 120 also provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups (i.e., the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1) during period PT2. In step S130, the touch panel 120 performs the operations of periods PT1 and PT2 in a rotating manner.

Please refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 4B at the same time. FIG. 4B is an operation schematic diagram according to step S130. In this embodiment, a plurality of touch sensing electrodes TE of a touch sensing electrode group TEG are grouped into a plurality of touch sensing electrode groups. Taking this embodiment as an example, a plurality of electrode rows in the touch sensing electrode group TEG (electrode rows C1~C4, C9~C12 as shown in FIG. 4A) are grouped into a first touch sensing electrode group TEG1. A plurality of electrode rows in the touch sensing electrode group TEG (electrode rows C1, C2, C7~C10, C15, C16 as shown in FIG. 4A) are grouped into a second touch sensing electrode group TEG2. A plurality of electrode rows in the touch sensing electrode group TEG (such as C5-C8, C13-C16 shown in FIG. 4A ) are grouped into a third touch sensing electrode group TEG3. In step S130, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1 during period PT1. In addition, the touch panel 120 also provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to the touch sensing electrodes other than the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1 (i.e., the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3) during period PT1. The touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2 during period PT2. In addition, the touch panel 120 also provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to the touch sensing electrodes other than the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2 during the period PT2. The touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the third touch sensing electrode group TEG1 during the period PT3. In addition, the touch panel 120 can also provide the second uplink signal SUPL2 to the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2 during the period PT2, and provide the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the touch sensing electrodes other than the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2. In step S130, the touch panel 120 performs the operations of the periods PT1 to PT3 in a rotating manner.

Next, the implementation details of step S140 are further illustrated. Please refer to Figures 2 and 5 at the same time. Figure 5 is an operation schematic diagram according to step S140. In the present embodiment, when the downlink signal SDPL is received through the touch sensing electrode group TEG, the touch panel 120 defines the sensing area RA according to the sensing position TPS of the received downlink signal SDPL. In the present embodiment, the sensing area RA is larger than the range of the sensing position TPS. In the present embodiment, the touch panel 120 can define the position of the sensing area RA according to the sensing position TPS of the received downlink signal SDPL. Therefore, the position of the sensing area RA can track the sensing position TPS, as shown in the operation of the period PT1~PT3.

It is worth mentioning that when the sensing area RA exists, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the sensing area RA and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other areas outside the sensing area RA. The first uplink signal SUPL1 is different from the second uplink signal SUPL2. The touch tool 120 provides the downlink signal SDPL according to the first uplink signal SUPL1. In this way, the touch tool 110 will not be interfered by the second uplink signal SUPL2 and can maintain the ability to analyze the first uplink signal SUPL1.

Waveform WFA includes multiple pulses. The pulse widths of the multiple pulses of waveform WFA may be the same or not completely the same. The present invention is not limited to the pulse width. Waveform WFB includes multiple pulses. The phase of waveform WFB is opposite to the phase of waveform WFA. In some embodiments, when waveform WFA does not have a positive pulse, waveform WFB has a positive pulse. When waveform WFA has a positive pulse, waveform WFB does not have a positive pulse. In some embodiments, waveform WFA includes multiple positive pulses. Waveform WFB includes multiple negative pulses. When the waveform WFA has a positive pulse, the waveform WFB has a negative pulse. In this embodiment, the waveform WFC has a fixed voltage value.

SUPL1。In this embodiment, when the sensing area RA does not exist, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 having a waveform WFA. In some embodiments, when the sensing area RA does not exist, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 having a waveform WFC.

SUPL2。On the other hand, when the sensing area RA exists, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 having a waveform WFA to the sensing area RA, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 having a waveform WFB to other areas other than the sensing area RA. During the downlink period, the touch controller 222 receives a downlink signal SDNL through the plurality of touch sensing electrodes TE and the conversion circuit 221, and determines whether the sensing area RA exists according to the downlink signal SDNL. Specifically, the conversion circuit 221 can determine the sensing area having the downlink signal SDNL as the sensing area RA.

SUPL1。In this embodiment, the uplink signal controller 223 is connected to the conversion circuit 221. The uplink signal controller 223 generates at least a first uplink signal SUPL1 during an uplink period.

During the uplink period, the uplink signal controller 223 , for example, responds to the control signal SC provided by the touch controller 222 to provide at least one of the first uplink signal SUPL1 and the second uplink signal SUPL2 .

TE。For example, when the touch controller 222 determines that the sensing area RA does not exist, the touch controller 222 controls the uplink signal controller 223 to generate the first uplink signal SUPL1 during the uplink period. The touch controller 222 also controls the conversion circuit 221 to provide the first uplink signal SUPL1 to all touch sensing electrodes TE during the uplink period.

TE。For example, when the touch controller 222 determines that the sensing area RA exists, the touch controller 222 controls the uplink signal controller 223 to generate the first uplink signal SUPL1 and the second uplink signal SUPL2 during the uplink period. When the sensing area RA exists, the touch controller 222 also controls the conversion circuit 221 during the uplink period to provide the first uplink signal SUPL1 to at least one touch sensing electrode TE corresponding to the sensing area RA, and to provide the second uplink signal SUPL2 to at least one touch sensing electrode TE corresponding to other areas.

In this embodiment, the conversion circuit 221 performs the above operations alternately based on the downlink period and the uplink period. The conversion circuit 221 may be a channel conversion circuit.

SUPL1。Please refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 8 at the same time. FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram of a touch tool according to an embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the touch tool 210 includes a touch operation electrode 211, a conversion circuit 212, and a downlink signal controller 213. The conversion circuit 212 is connected to the touch operation electrode 211. The downlink signal controller 213 is connected to the conversion circuit 212. The downlink signal controller 213 generates a downlink signal SDNL during the downlink period, and provides the downlink signal SDNL to the touch operation electrode 211 through the conversion circuit 212. The conversion circuit 212 receives the first uplink signal SUPL1 through the touch operation electrode 211 during the uplink period.

SDNL。In this embodiment, the touch tool 210 further includes an uplink signal processor 214. The uplink signal processor 214 is connected to the conversion circuit 212 and the downlink signal controller 213. The uplink signal processor 214 controls the downlink signal controller 213 to generate a downlink signal SDNL according to the first uplink signal SUPL1.

In this embodiment, the conversion circuit 212 performs the above operations alternately based on the downlink period and the uplink period. The conversion circuit 212 may be a channel conversion circuit.

In this embodiment, the uplink signal processor 214 can identify the waveform of the first uplink signal SUPL1. Therefore, the uplink signal processor 214 will not be interfered by uplink signals with other waveforms and can maintain the ability to analyze the first uplink signal SUPL1.

SUPL2。Please refer to FIG. 2, FIG. 9A and FIG. 9B at the same time. FIG. 9A and FIG. 9B are flowcharts of an operation method according to another embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the operation method is applicable to the touch panel 120. In step S201, the touch panel 120 starts to perform a touch scanning operation. In step S202, the touch panel 120 determines whether a sensing area exists. When the sensing area does not exist, it means that the touch panel 120 does not receive any downlink signal. Therefore, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal to the first touch sensing electrode group (such as the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1 in FIG. 4A ) in step S203, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups (such as the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2 in FIG. 4B ). The touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the second touch sensing electrode group in step S204, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups.

In step S205, the touch panel 120 determines whether the operations of steps S203 and S204 complete one cycle of scanning. For example, the "one cycle" includes one or more operations of steps S203 and S204. When the number of execution times of steps S203 and S204 is insufficient, this indicates that one cycle of scanning has not been completed. Therefore, the touch panel 120 returns to the operation of step S203. On the other hand, when the number of execution times of steps S203 and S204 is sufficient, this indicates that one cycle of scanning has been completed. Therefore, the touch panel 120 returns to the operation of step S201.

In step S202, when the touch panel 120 determines that the sensing area exists, the touch panel 120 determines whether the touch tool 110 exists in step S206. For example, the touch panel 120 identifies the received downlink signal. When the downlink signal received by the touch panel 120 is not the downlink signal SDPL provided by the touch tool 110, the touch panel 120 determines that the touch tool 110 does not exist. Therefore, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the first touch sensing electrode group and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to the other touch sensing electrode groups in step S207. The touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the second touch sensing electrode group in step S208, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups. The touch panel 120 determines whether the operations of steps S203 and S204 complete a scanning cycle.

In step S209, the touch panel 120 determines whether the operation of steps S207 and S208 completes a cycle of scanning. Similar to step S205, when the execution times of steps S207 and S208 are insufficient, the touch panel 120 returns to the operation of step S207. On the other hand, when the execution times of steps S207 and S208 are sufficient, the touch panel 120 returns to the operation of step S201.

In this embodiment, the operations of steps S203, S204, S207, and S208 can be sufficiently explained in at least the embodiments of FIG. 2 and FIG. 4A, and thus will not be repeated here.

In step S206, when the touch panel 120 recognizes the downlink signal SDPL provided by the touch tool 110, the touch panel 120 determines that the sensing area RA exists. Therefore, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the touch sensing electrode group that receives the downlink signal SDPL in step S210, and provides the second uplink signal to other touch sensing electrode groups in step S211. In step S212, the touch panel 120 determines whether the operations of steps S210 and S211 complete a cycle of scanning. Similar to steps S205 and S209, when the execution times of steps S210 and S211 are insufficient, the touch panel 120 returns to the operation of step S210. On the other hand, when the execution times of steps S210 and S211 are sufficient, the touch panel 120 returns to the operation of step S201.

SUPL2。Taking the operation of steps S210 and S211 as an example, FIG. 10 is a schematic diagram of the operation according to steps S210 and S211. In the present embodiment, during period PT1, the touch panel 120 determines that at least one touch sensing electrode of the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1 receives the downlink signal SDPL. Therefore, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to all touch sensing electrodes of the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1. The sensing area RA is located within the range of the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1. The touch panel 120 provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups other than the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1. During the period PT2, the touch panel 120 determines that at least one touch sensing electrode of the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2 receives the downlink signal SDPL. The sensing area RA is located within the range of the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2. Therefore, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to all touch sensing electrodes of the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2. The touch panel 120 provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups other than the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2. During the period PT3, the touch panel 120 determines that at least one touch sensing electrode of the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3 receives the downlink signal SDPL. The sensing area RA is located within the range of the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3. Therefore, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to all the touch sensing electrodes of the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3. The touch panel 120 provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrode groups except the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3.

SUPL2。Please refer to FIG. 3 and FIG. 11 , which is an operation schematic diagram according to an embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the touch sensing electrodes are grouped into a first touch sensing electrode group TEG1, a second touch sensing electrode group TEG2, a third touch sensing electrode group TEG3, and a fourth touch sensing electrode group TEG4 (the present invention is not limited thereto). The first touch sensing electrode group TEG1, the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2, the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3, and the fourth touch sensing electrode group TEG4 partially overlap. In other words, the same touch sensing electrode will belong to at least two touch sensing electrode groups. In this embodiment, when the touch panel 120 determines that the sensing area RA exists in step S120, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the sensing area RA in step S140. In addition, in the period PT1 of step S140, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrodes other than the first touch sensing electrode group TEG1. During the period PT2 of step S140, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrodes other than the second touch sensing electrode group TEG2. During the period PT3 of step S140, the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3, and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch sensing electrodes other than the third touch sensing electrode group TEG3. In the period PT4 of step S140 , the touch panel 120 provides the first uplink signal SUPL1 to the fourth touch electrode group TEG4 , and provides the second uplink signal SUPL2 to other touch electrode groups other than the fourth touch electrode group TEG4 .

In summary, when the touch panel and the sensing area sensed by the touch tool exist, the touch panel provides a first uplink signal to the sensing area and provides a second uplink signal to other areas outside the sensing area. The first uplink signal is different from the second uplink signal. The touch tool recognizes the first uplink signal. The touch tool provides a downlink signal based on the first uplink signal. In this way, the touch tool will not be interfered by the second uplink signal and can maintain the ability to analyze the first uplink signal.
