Description

Iontophoresis Devices for Hyperhidrosis

The present invention relates to an iontophoresis device, and in particular to an iontophoresis device for hyperhidrosis.

Common treatments for hyperhidrosis are available such as antiperspirants, high concentration antiperspirants (aluminum chloride), botulinum toxin injections, iontophoresis, and sympathectomy. Antiperspirants are irritating and can only be used under the armpits. High concentrations of antiperspirants (aluminum chloride) can cause significant inflammation and even risk of cancer; botulinum toxin injections are used to treat palms, because hands contain many Nerves This treatment is very painful; the most common side effect of sympathectomy is compensatory sweating, which makes the patient sweat more than before. Therefore, among all treatments, dermatologists will recommend tap water iontophoresis rehabilitation therapy (without side effects) as the first line of treatment.

The existing iontophoresis rehabilitation therapy device adopts a box-like design. They are inconvenient to use and immobilize the patient during treatment. They also require the use of relatively high electrical currents, which can only be adjusted manually and, by design, may be directed through a substantial portion of the body away from the treatment area. These devices are also often painful to the person undergoing the treatment due to the high electrical current. This is especially problematic since treatments often require several sessions, lasting weeks or months. Therefore, the biggest problem of this device is the inconvenient movement and electric current pain during treatment, which seriously reduces the patient's willingness to treat, and finally gives up treatment.

Embodiments of the invention are discussed in detail below. It should be appreciated, however, that the embodiments provide many applicable concepts that can be implemented in a wide variety of specific contexts. The discussed and disclosed embodiments are for illustration only, and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. The terms “first”, “second”, etc. used herein do not specifically refer to a sequence or order, but are only used to distinguish elements or operations described with the same technical terms.

180。FIG. 1 is a system block diagram of an iontophoresis device 100 for hyperhidrosis according to an embodiment of the present invention. The iontophoresis device 100 for hyperhidrosis is applied to an affected part of a hyperhidrosis patient. The iontophoresis device 100 for hyperhidrosis includes an elastic sheath 120 , an electrical stimulator 140 , a detection unit 160 and a control unit 180 .

FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of an elastic sleeve 120 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The elastic sleeve 120 has an electrode layer 122 , a water-absorbing layer 124 and an elastomer layer 126 . As shown in FIG. 2 , one side of the water-absorbing layer 124 is attached to the electrode layer 122 , and the other side of the water-absorbing layer 124 is in contact with the affected part 200 of the hyperhidrosis patient. Specifically, the elastic sleeve 120 is sleeved on the hyperhidrosis affected part 200 of the hyperhidrosis patient, such as hands, feet, armpits or trunk.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the water-absorbing layer 124 directly contacts the affected part 200 to absorb sweat from the affected part 200 , and the water-absorbing layer 124 is disposed between the electrode layer 122 and the affected part 200 .

The electrode layer 122 is disposed between the elastomer layer 126 and the water-absorbing layer 124 . The electrode layer 122 is used to output therapeutic current parameters to the affected part 200 to treat hyperhidrosis of the affected part 200 . Specifically, the water-absorbing layer 124 is used to absorb the sweat from the affected part 200 and serve as a conductor to uniformize the parameters of the treatment current. In other words, the water-absorbing layer 124 can ensure uniform ion introduction. In detail, when the therapeutic current parameters output by the electrode layer 122 act on the affected part 200, the affected part 200 of the patient is in contact with the water-absorbing layer 124, and the electrolyte in the sweat absorbed by the water-absorbing layer 124 undergoes electrolysis by utilizing the principle of human body conduction. Positive ions and negative ions are produced, which are introduced into the sweat ducts to secrete sweat glands and block perspiration, thereby achieving the effect of alleviating and reducing sweating, thereby achieving the effect of treating hyperhidrosis.

In other words, the present invention replaces tap water with the patient's own sweat. Currently known iontophoresis products generally require Tap-Water as a conductive medium, so a container is required, and it is difficult to perform treatment at any time and any place. In contrast, for the present invention, the patient's own sweat is mainly composed of water and some minerals, so iontophoresis can be performed through the patient's own sweat, thereby realizing a portable design, thereby greatly improving the patient's willingness to use.

3 and 4 are schematic diagrams of the electrode layer 122 of the elastic sleeve 120 according to different embodiments of the present invention, where the affected part of the patient is the hand and the skin of the patient's affected part is the palm as an example. As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 , the electrode layer 122 of the elastic sleeve 120 is divided into a positive electrode portion 122 a and a negative electrode portion 122 b, and the positive electrode portion 122 a and the negative electrode portion 122 b are not in electrical contact. In an embodiment of the present invention, the area of the positive electrode portion 122a is equal to the area of the negative electrode portion 122b. In other words, the positive electrode portion 122a and the negative electrode portion 122b are electrodes with equal areas. Specifically, if the area of the positive electrode part and the negative electrode part of the electrode layer are different, the part of the electrode with a small area will cause the current density per unit area on the skin to be too high and may cause pain or even burns. Therefore, the present invention The design is such that no matter how the positive electrode portion 122a and the negative electrode portion 122b of the electrode layer 122 are divided, the area of the positive electrode portion 122a will be equal to the area of the negative electrode portion 122b. It should be noted that the electrode pattern in which the electrode layer 122 is divided into the positive electrode portion 122a and the negative electrode portion 122b shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. The electrode patterns of the positive electrode portion 122a and the negative electrode portion 122b having the same area are all practicable aspects of the present invention.

In the embodiment of the present invention, the material of the elastic body layer 126 of the elastic sleeve 120 is a stretchable/elastic cloth that is easy to wear. In the embodiment of the present invention, the material of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 is, for example, non-woven fabric, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the material of the water-absorbing layer 124 can be other soft water-absorbing materials. In an embodiment of the present invention, the electrode layer 122 of the elastic sleeve 120 is made of soft conductive material, such as silicon-graphite composite material, silver fiber, fiber containing graphene, metal coating or other soft conductive material , which has softness, high conductivity, wear resistance and durability. Specifically, the electrodes of conventional iontophoresis products are generally made of stainless steel, which is not suitable for sheathing on the affected part of the patient. In other words, each layer of the elastic sheath 120 is made of soft and/or elastic material, which is easy to fit on the affected part of the patient, and is not only comfortable to wear but also easy to put on and take off.

0.5mA/cm 2Please return to FIG. 1 , the electrical stimulator 140 is electrically connected to the electrode layer 122 , and the electrical stimulator 140 is used to generate therapeutic current parameters and transmit the therapeutic current parameters to the electrode layer 122 of the elastic sleeve 120 . In the embodiment of the present invention, the electrical stimulator 140 is a wearable electrical stimulator, so as to realize a portable design and greatly improve the patient's willingness to use it. In the embodiment of the present invention, the therapeutic current parameter is the pulse current generated by the electrical stimulator 140 . Compared with the direct current, the pulse current is less likely to cause current pain. In an embodiment of the present invention, in order to ensure the safe operation of the iontophoresis device 100 for hyperhidrosis, the frequency of the pulse current is between 5 kHz and 30 kHz, and the current intensity of the pulse current does not exceed 14 mA (greater than 0 mA and less than or equal to 14mA), the maximum voltage of the pulse current does not exceed 35V, and the current density per unit area of the pulse current on the affected part 200 is less than 0.5mA/cm 2 (the current density of the pulse current is greater than 0mA/cm 2 and less than 0.5mA/cm 2 ) . Specifically, the high current density per unit area of the affected skin may cause pain or even burns, so the present invention sets the current density of the pulse current to less than 0.5 mA/cm 2 .

122。The positive electrode portion 122a and the negative electrode portion 122b of the electrode layer 122 are respectively electrically connected to the positive output end and the negative output end of the electric stimulator 140 through an electrical wire (not shown in FIGS. 1 , 3 and 4 ). , so that the electric stimulator 140 can transmit the therapeutic current parameters to the electrode layer 122 of the elastic sheath 120 .

The detection unit 160 is electrically connected to the water-absorbing layer 124 to detect the measurement value of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sheath 120 , so as to know the sweating amount of the patient's affected part 200 . In the embodiment of the present invention, the measured value of the above-mentioned water-absorbing layer 124 is the resistance value or conductivity of the water-absorbing layer 124 . For example, two electrical contacts can be arranged on the water-absorbing layer 124, and a micro-voltage is applied to the two electrical contacts and the micro-current received from the two electrical contacts is measured. The impedance value of the water-absorbing layer 124 can be obtained from the ratio of the microvoltage to the microcurrent, and the conductivity is the reciprocal of the impedance value. For example, the detection unit 160 may be composed of a micro-voltage supply element, a micro-current measurement element, and a computing element. The micro-voltage supply element is used to apply a micro-voltage to the two electrical contacts, and the micro-current measurement element is used to The micro-current received from the two electrical contacts is measured, and the calculation element is used to calculate the impedance value and/or conductivity of the water-absorbing layer 124 . Specifically, in order to be able to detect the impedance value or conductivity of the water-absorbing layer 124, the two electrical contacts arranged on the water-absorbing layer 124 need to be separated by a certain distance, but the present invention is not limited to two electrical contacts. The location on the water-absorbing layer 124 only needs to be able to detect the impedance value or conductivity of the water-absorbing layer 124 .

The control unit 180 is electrically connected to the detection unit 160 to receive the measured value of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 , and the control unit 180 is indirectly electrically connected to the electrode layer 122 through the electric stimulator 140 to obtain the measured value according to the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 The measured value is used to adjust the parameters of the therapeutic current output by the electrode layer 122 . Specifically, the electrical stimulator 140 is electrically connected to the control unit 180, and the control unit 180 is used to control the electrical stimulator 140 according to the measured value of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 (for example, the control unit 180 controls the electrical stimulator 140 according to the amount of the water-absorbing layer 124 measured value to send a control signal to the electrical stimulator 140) to adjust the therapeutic current parameters generated by the electrical stimulator 140 and transmitted to the electrode layer 122 of the elastic sleeve 120 (the electrode layer 122 is used to output the therapeutic current parameters to the affected part 200), to achieve Optimal therapeutic effect. For example, the control unit 180 can be a processor, which receives the measured value of the water-absorbing layer 124 and sends a control signal to the electric stimulator 140 to adjust the parameters of the therapeutic current. In the embodiment of the present invention, the control unit 180 is used to control the current intensity, frequency and treatment time of the treatment current parameters (pulse current).

For example, if the control unit 180 judges that the greater the rate of change of the impedance value of the water-absorbing layer 124 (that is, the smaller the rate of change of the electrical conductivity), it means that the water-absorbing layer 124 absorbs more sweat, and then evaluates the appearance of the affected part 200 of the patient. There is a lot of sweating, so the control unit 180 can control the electric stimulator 140 to increase the treatment current parameters/pulse current (for example, increase the current intensity, frequency and treatment time of the pulse current). For example, if the control unit 180 judges that the smaller the rate of change of the impedance value of the water-absorbing layer 124 (that is, the larger the rate of change of the electrical conductivity), it means that the water-absorbing layer 124 absorbs less sweat, and then evaluates the appearance of the affected part 200 of the patient. The amount of sweat is less, so the control unit 180 can control the electric stimulator 140 to reduce the treatment current parameters/pulse current (for example, reduce the current intensity, frequency and treatment time of the pulse current).

Generally speaking, if the iontophoresis rehabilitation therapy is interrupted because the patient is busy and forgets to use it, the treatment must be repeated and used every day, which is inconvenient and will reduce the patient's willingness to use it. Therefore, in the embodiment of the present invention, the control unit 180 can also record the treatment data of the patient, and at the same time enable the patient to consult the treatment data through a display interaction interface, and the above-mentioned display interaction interface can also remind the patient to perform regular treatment, thereby greatly Improve patient willingness to use.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the control unit 180 is further used to adjust the therapeutic current parameters (pulse current) according to the physiological index of the patient with the affected part. The physiological index includes at least one of the following: the patient's gender, the patient's age, the patient's The area of the affected part.

For example, if the gender of the patient is male, generally speaking, the skin of the affected part is rough and requires a larger pulse current, so the control unit 180 can control the electrical stimulator 140 to increase the pulse current accordingly. For example, if the gender of the patient is female, generally speaking, the skin of the affected part is finer and requires a smaller pulse current, so the control unit 180 can control the electrical stimulator 140 to lower the pulse current accordingly. For example, if the patient is older, generally speaking, the skin of the affected area is more likely to be dry and requires a larger pulse current, so the control unit 180 can control the electrical stimulator 140 to increase the pulse current accordingly. For example, since the current density of the pulse current is set to be less than 0.5mA/cm 2 in the present invention, the control unit 180 needs to control the electric stimulator 140 according to the area of the affected part of the patient so as to generate appropriate therapeutic current parameters (pulse current ).

S2。FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram of the elastic sleeve 120 sleeved on the affected part according to the first embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Figure 5, the elastic sleeve 120 is set on the affected part by a bandage 130, the number of bandages 130 shown in Figure 5 is two, but the present invention is not limited thereto, the number of bandages can be one or more than two. In the embodiment of the present invention, the strap 130 may be, for example, a fixed strap, a Velcro, a buckle strap or a magnetic strap, and the like. The affected part includes a first surface S1 and a second surface S2 opposite to each other. As shown in FIG. In other words, the other side of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 is in contact with the first surface S1 in FIG. S2.

Specifically, clinically, the back part of the affected part (such as the back of the hand, the instep, etc.) (corresponding to the second surface S2) usually does not sweat. If the back part of the affected part is treated together, the skin of the affected part will be excessively dry It can even cause skin breakouts. For example, if the hands or feet are put into fully covered gloves or foot covers, during long-term (such as half an hour or 40 minutes) iontophoresis rehabilitation therapy, it may cause the patient to suffer from heat or overtreatment. The affected part sweats more severely, swells and is extremely uncomfortable, and even causes serious skin diseases (such as eczema, bacterial and fungal infections). Relatively speaking, the elastic sheath 120 of the present invention is set on the affected part by crossing the second surface S2 through the bandage 130, which is essentially an open way (that is, it does not completely surround the entire affected part), such as Open elastic glove design, open elastic foot cover design, the elastic sleeve 120 does not cover the second surface S2 but the strap 130 crosses the second surface S2, the affected part can be very easily inserted into the elastic sleeve 120, and through Straps 130 are secured. Not only can it solve the problem of stuffy heat and over-treatment of the back of the hand, but also because it is open, it is very easy to clean, just rinse and dry, and solve the problem of easy mold.

S4。FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram of the elastic sleeve 120 sleeved on the affected part according to the second embodiment of the present invention. The affected part is, for example, the extremities, including the palms S3 (the palms are skin structures rich in sweat glands and sebaceous glands and without hair follicles, such as the palms and soles) and the back S4 (the backs are the extremities other than the palms) that are opposite to each other. For the skin structure including hair follicles, such as the back of the hand and the instep), the elastic sleeve 120 includes a finger cover part 150, and the elastic sleeve 120 is set on the affected part by the finger cover part 150 and the strap 130, as shown in Figure 2, the elastic sleeve 120 One side of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 is attached to the electrode layer 122, and the other side of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 contacts the affected part 200. In other words, the other side of the water-absorbing layer 124 of the elastic sleeve 120 contacts the palm S3 in FIG. Over the back S4, the elastic sleeve 120 covers the palm S3, but the elastic sleeve 120 does not completely cover the back S4.

Specifically, because the back part of the affected part (such as the back of the hand, the back of the foot, etc.) usually does not sweat, the design of the present invention is to make the elastic sleeve 120 not completely cover the back S4 to solve the problem of stuffy heat. In detail, the elastic sleeve 120 is suitable for the hand or the foot, and the elastic sleeve 120 includes a finger sleeve portion 150 to facilitate the elastic sleeve 120 to be placed on the affected part.

Based on the above, the present invention proposes an iontophoresis device 100 for hyperhidrosis, which uses the patient's own sweat instead of tap water, and uses a wearable electrical stimulator, thereby realizing a portable design and greatly improving the patient's willingness to use it. In addition, the iontophoresis device 100 for hyperhidrosis of the present invention controls the treatment current parameters according to the measured value of the water-absorbing layer 124, so as to achieve the optimal treatment effect. Finally, the elastic sleeve 120 of the iontophoresis device 100 for hyperhidrosis of the present invention does not completely surround the entire affected part, which solves the problem of stuffy heat and overtreatment of the back of the hand, and because it is open, it is very easy to clean, just rinse and dry , to solve the problem of mildew.
