Abstract

An online monitoring method using in-mold pressure to determine molded product quality is applicable to an injection machine and a mold for injection molding a product by the injection machine. The method comprises: first, installing a plurality of pressure sensors at a plurality of pressure reference points in the mold; constructing an operation pressure - time curve for the operation of the injection machine, the operation pressure - time curve including a compression section with an operation pressure and a pressure hold section following the compression section; then applying the operation pressure - time curve to the injection machine and setting up a regulation rule at a monitoring system in signal connection with the pressure sensors; and finally allowing the monitoring system to inspect the product according to the regulation rule and producing alarm when the product is not in compliance with the regulation rule, thereby allowing automated product screening.
