Abstract

The invention is an air filter having nano anti-virus and deodorization effect and its fabrication method thereof; the method comprises: mixing zinc oxide nano particles and silver nano particles at a predetermined percentage by weight to prepare a plastic master batch; then uniformly mixing the plastic master batch at a predetermined percentage by weight into an plastic raw material; operating a hot-melt extrusion and yarn drawing process to fabricate a full-oriented yarn containing zinc oxide and silver nano particles and cutting the full-oriented yarn into required staple fibers; in addition, mixing the mineral powder capable of producing negative ions or radiating metal oxide at a predetermined percentage by weight into a glue slurry which the slurry is evenly coated on the surface of a filter fabric uniformly; finally, implanting the staple fibers densely through electrostatic flocking technique on the surface of a filter fabric, such that after the glue slurry is dried, the staple fibers are adhered and fixed on the surface of the filter fabric to form a dense fabric layer as an air filter for the invention. The air filter can filter the impurities, dirt, and dust in the air passing the filter; in addition, owing to the radiated &agr; -ray, &bgr; -ray, &ggr; -ray or X-ray from the mineral powder, the air filter can also release electrons in an annexed or electron-losing way into the air, so that molecules in the air will become negative ions having negative charge; therefore, the mineral powder is the original source of negative ions for continuously discharging negative ions. These rays also stimulate the zinc oxide and silver nano particles in the staple fibers to respectively generate auxiliary photocatalysis and catalysis effects to realize organic compound degradation of bacteria, viruses and mould, generating superior antibacterial and sterilization effects.
