The inner tapered portion 4200, the inner diameter 4250, the inner groove 4350, the through hole 4450 are joined in the axial direction, and the length of the flat drill 4500 is preferably at least as long as the inner groove region 4300 in the axial direction. That is, the inner fluted region 4300 is preferably comprised of an axial length of the inner fluted member 4000 of no more than 50%. The inner fluted member 4000 is preferably made of a metallic material such as brass, preferably plated with a conductive, corrosion resistant material such as a nickel tin alloy.

The tension member 6000 is threaded through the diameter of the aperture 6400. The internal clamping member 6000 conforms to the pressure applied by the structure to securely secure and environmentally seal the cable/connector joint, while maintaining the forward pressure between the cable outer conductor 25 and the rearward annular shoulder 4400. And maintaining the forward pressure between the plurality of points of the cable outer conductor 25 undulations and the internal geometry of the corresponding inner fluted member 4000.
