Abstract

A vibration isolator for precision instrument includes a linear rail unit and four elastic position-limiting units separately disposed at both sides of the instrument. The linear rail unit comprises two linear rails, which are apart from and parallel to each other; and four slide mechanisms, which are slidable on the rails respectively and attached to the bottom of the instrument. When vibration is transferred to the linear rail unit, the instrument moves with the four slide mechanisms. When the instrument is displaced against the elastic position-limiting units, the elastic position-limiting units is stored with a restoring force, which can limit the instrument and push it back. The acceleration of the instrument caused by the vibration is lowered by the slide mechanisms being sliding on the rails and by the design of intervals existing between the elastic position-limiting units and the instrument. Also, the instrument is prevented from resonance to be able to reduce the displacement of the instrument relative to the ground.
