Abstract

A liquid crystal display having a driving circuit for a dummy signal line comprises an array of pixel electrodes arranged as a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns; a plurality of data signal lines of which each data signal line is respectively connected to each column of pixel electrodes; a column of dummy pixel electrodes; a dummy data signal line adjacent to an outermost column of the array of pixel electrodes and connected to the column of dummy pixel electrodes; a driving circuit for driving the plurality of data signal lines with a plurality of data signals wherein the polarity of a respective data signal line is inverted with that of an adjacent data signal line; and a signal amplifying circuit having an input electrically connected to a data signal line of which the polarity is inverted with that of the outermost data signal line and an output electrically connected to the dummy data signal line; so that the display performance of the liquid crystal display can be uniform.
