Abstract
The present invention proposes an error control method of seeking servo for an optical disk drive. When the track-on operation of the optical pick-up head begins, i.e., the control of optical pick-up head is switched from seeking servo to tracking servo, it starts to count the track-on time. When the track-on time exceeds a predetermined time, the track-on operation of optical pick-up head is abandoned. Then, the center servo system is activated so that the optical pick head can swing with natural frequency. After the optical pickup head moves to the center position of the moveable range, the other track-on operation is executed.
