Abstract

The present invention is related to a dual-frequency chip antenna. The antenna comprises a ceramic chip with permittivity ranging from 3 to 20, a feed terminal for transmitting high frequency signals, a side connection terminal printed on the side surface of the said ceramic chip, a first radiating metal line with its two ends connected to the said feed and side connection terminals, a second radiating metal line with its one end connected to the said side connection terminal and the other end open. The said ceramic chip has more than two ceramic layers and is made by using an MLCC process. In this antenna design, the method of using a single resonant path with a coupling mechanism to control the antenna's frequency ratio is used. The proposed antenna is suitable for small-size and dual-frequency applications.
