Abstract

A position detector for elevator constructed in accordance with the present invention comprises a detector disposed on the side of an elevator cage moving up and down in an elevator shaft, and an object to be detected provided on the landing stage side of the elevator pit. The detector comprises a reed switch, and the object to be detected comprises a plate for fixing the object to the landing stage side and a plurality of small permanent magnets arranged on the fixing plate at an interval in the moving direction of the cage. According to the structure, the object to be detected can be arranged inexpensively and the permanent magnets thereof can be protected against damage.
