Abstract

The object of the present invention is to provide a cheap rotary encoder and the manufacturing method thereof. In order to achieve the object, the rotary encoder according to the present invention, as shown in Fig. 1, has the cutting portions 2d, 3f configured to separate the neighbored conductive patterns 2, 3, which are located at the ends of the inner edges 2c, 3e at the hole side 1a of the conductive patterns 2, 3; the inner edges 2c, 3e located inside the hole 1a in the insulation substrate 1 and toward the outer direction in the remote edge position; and, the cutting portions 2d, 3f exposed from the hole 1a in the insulation substrate 1; whereby, the conductive patterns 2, 3 are embedded in the insulation substrate 1 at the inner edge by supporting with the connection portion 19. Therefore, the conductive patterns 2, 3 can be configured on the same plane without the curved and deformed state and a rotary encoder is provided with excellent performance and for easy and simple manufacturing.
