Abstract

The present invention relates to a modular hearing aid having a base unit and a detachable earmold. A battery, an earmold tip and a receiver can be integrated with the earmold. The earmold can also include a removably attached module. The module can have a shell, electronics, a receiver or a microphone. A hearing aid also includes a flexible hearing aid tip having a vibration isolator portion and a mushroom shaped tip portion. The vibration isolator portion mechanically decouples a receiver from a hearing aid base unit while the mushroom shaped tip portion provides an acoustic seal in the ear canal of a user. The internal components of a hearing aid can be potted to attenuate vibrations created by the receiver during operation.

Description of Invention (I) [Background of Invention] Hearing aids are exquisite electronic sound devices, which are intended to be flawlessly implemented in the rough environment of the human ear. Hearing aid manufacturers use hard and durable ear mold materials to protect delicate electronic circuits and transducers against the inconvenience of getting in and out of the ear. This durable material is intended to be used for more than four years. The ear mold system can be used not only to protect the internal components of the hearing aid, but also to form an interface between the electronic circuit and the canal. This interface must be established to prevent sound feedback, keep electronic circuits in the ears, and prevent irritation and tiredness in the ear canals. Therefore, there is a design conflict for one of the ear molds, which is between the need for materials that are soft, flexible, non-irritating and comfortable, and the need for durable materials that protect internal electronic components that can last for more than four years. A disposable hearing aid system is designed to have a life expectancy that is well below the traditional four years. The life of disposable hearing aids is also governed by battery life. If the battery is replaceable, the hearing aid is no longer disposable, and the advantages of the disposable hearing aid will be lost. However, many other variations on disposable hearing aids are possible. These variations are expected to maintain the advantages of being disposable 'and at the same time make the system more convenient, comfortable, more durable, or provide better performance. One-size-fits-al0 type hearing aids often lack the flexibility of their tips. This lack of flexibility prevents the hearing aid from penetrating deep into the ear bone area of the ear canal. This type of hearing aid The system is also unable to establish a sound seal in the ear canal. There is no need to penetrate or seal in the ear bone area. 'The hearing aid will produce an occlusive effect on the wearer. Invention Explanation (>) The sound-sealed hearing aids are easy to give back. (Please read the precautions on the back before filling in this page.) Printed for hearing aid manufacturers and performers In other words, feedback is a critical and unresolved problem. The situation of feedback in hearing is presented in several forms: electrical, acoustic, and mechanical. Even if electrical feedback is easier to use with additional circuits. Control, after feedback in hearing aids remains a major issue It often reduces the effectiveness of hearing aids. The audible or mechanical feedback signal coming from the hearing aid receiver can be switched by the hearing aid microphone, amplified in the electronic circuit, and again output by the receiver with a higher gain. To establish a feedback loop and potential oscillations. The Nyquist criterion states that if the gain of the open-loop transfer function at a specific frequency is greater than one, and the phase shift of the open-loop transfer function is a multiple of 360 degrees At this time, a system will oscillate. Acoustic feedback occurs through the air inside the hearing aid housing and outside the hearing aid (when it is worn). Mechanical feedback occurs because it vibrates the receiver of the hearing aid housing Hearing aid designers have used a number of technologies to prevent the establishment of such feedback loops. These technologies include: rubber isolation mounting brackets for microphones and receivers, hard tubes at the receiver output ports, and electronic Filter the hearing aid output to suppress energy at the most likely troublesome feedback frequency. Unfortunately, hearing aids are usually The feedback oscillation frequency in the range that the wearer needs to enlarge most, such as the frequency range between 15G () and 5000 Hz. [Invention theory] For the between the comfort and durability of the ear mold Conflict, a possible solution is to create a disposable hearing aid, using ultra-soft ears

Description of the invention (々) The Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Intellectual Property Bureau of the Consumer Affairs Bureau printed f materials, which may not be recorded for years, but can be manufactured in large quantities in an economically competitive manner. Therefore, the ear mold system can be changed more frequently than the disposable hearing aid. -An ear mold that is replaced more frequently than the replacement cycle of a disposable hearing aid will provide benefits to the user. Compared with the thief system, the ear mold is replaced after a much longer period of time. 2-The base unit, if the ear mold system is replaced daily, it will provide users with comfortable comfort, cleanliness and performance. The flexibility of the ear mold tip must allow the hearing aid to be inserted deeply into the ear canal to overcome the spiraling emotions that currently exist in typical hearing aids. An ear mold system with a wipeable tip combined with a running ear mold can have several advantages. These advantages include potentially deep ear groove assembly, effective rate affinity of the sound transmitted from the receiver to the eardrum, and a corresponding reduction in the required output level of the receiver. The erasable tip also provides a comfortable installation, even if the tip is located in the ear bone area of the ear canal. It is observed that when the tip is established-sealed in this ear, the effect is substantially diminished. For hearing aid design, the compliance of the ear mold tip of the hearing aid (_phance) is also important. If the ear mold tip is compliant, the tip can be installed in many ear grooves of different sizes and shapes. A desirable tip system can easily slide into the ear bone structure of the ear canal, feel comfortable, and provide a good sound seal. The invention relates to a U-wedge hearing aid, which has a replaceable base unit. Replaceable ear mold, the base unit is suitable for containing any of the microphone, receiver 'battery' electronic circuit and controller-the ear mold is removable attached to the base unit, the ear mold has compliance Material This paper size is in accordance with China National Standards (CNS) A4 specification 21 ϋ X 297 mm ---------- ^ ------ ΐτ ------ Later: (Please read first Note on the back, please fill out this page again) 4 635 1 4 A7 B7 Printed by the Consumer Property Cooperative of the Intellectual Property Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs 5. Description of the invention (eight) Body formation. In this embodiment, the hearing aid also has a base unit 36, which has a microphone 30 and an electronic circuit 28. The battery 22 is integrally formed with the ear mold 12 and includes an electrical connection to the base unit 36. In this embodiment, the ear mold 12, the shell, the battery 22, and the receiver 26 are integrated into a single unit, which can be used as a covering for the base unit 36, and the unit can be compared to the base unit 36. And more often, the base unit 36 may or may not be disposable. This provides user convenience, cleanliness and long product life. The receiver 26 can be incorporated into the replaceable ear mold 12 and the shell 15 for the following reasons. First, the receiver 26 is preferably placed deeper into the ear canal 'to achieve the most effective sound pressure level possible. For many types of hearing aids, the ear mold 12 also protrudes deeply from the ear groove to guide and position the electronic circuit 28 and the receiver 26. Therefore, integrating the receiver with the ear mold 12 and the shell 15 will allow the receiver to be placed deeply into the ear canal. The second 'receiver can be incorporated into the replaceable ear mold 12 and the shell 15', because the right modular hearing aid 10 is dropped from a height of several meters to a hard surface, it is extremely vulnerable to damage. By integrating the receiver 36 with the replaceable ear mold 12 and the shell 15, the user can easily perform the replacement of the damaged receiver 36. Figures 4, 4, and 16 show an ear mold tip 60 having an integral mushroom-shaped tip portion 62 and an integral vibration isolator portion 64. The ear mold tip 60 provides comfort, ease of insertion, sound attenuation, and helps secure the unit in the ear. The flexible ear mold tip 60 may be made of a soft, low-hardness material such as a silicide, and may be made by a molding process for a non-expensive manufacturing process. The soft material provides comfort to the wearer while producing an acceptable sound seal between the hearing aid and the ear. Description of the invention (7 <) and carry the sound produced by the receiver to the ear canal. The sound cavity 74 has a rectangular cross-sectional shape. During the manufacture of the tip 60, a spring 70 is placed around the sound cavity 74 before a conformable material is cast before the spring 70. The rectangular cross-sectional area of the sound cavity can help maintain the position of the spring 70 during the sharpening of the tip 60. Therefore, the sound cavity 74 is surrounded not only by the spring 70 but also by the compliant material, which constitutes the tip 60. The sound cavity 74 may have a cross-sectional area 'closed so that the sound cavity 74 increases the high-frequency sound transmission from the receiver 26 to the user's ear canal. In this regard, the sound cavity 74 may help match the impedance of the ear groove to the receiver 26. The sound cavity 74 may also include a base sound cavity portion 80 having a circular cross-sectional area. The circular cross-sectional area of the base sound cavity portion 80 may provide a transition area between the rectangular cross-sectional area of the sound cavity 74 and the receiver 26. The mushroom tip portion 62 has an optimal tip diameter 72 in the range of 6 to 12 millimeters (mm). A tip with a diameter of 8 to 10 mm can fit most individuals, and a tip with a diameter of 9 mm is the ideal diameter By. Several internal features of the mushroom-like tip portion 62 are shown in a cutaway view in FIG. The mushroom-shaped tip portion 62 includes a spring 70, which can be formed integrally with the ear mold tip 60. The spring 70 may have a hardness corresponding to the desired tip flexibility. For example, the harder the spring, the more inflexible the mushroom tip portion 62 is relative to the vibration isolator portion 64. The spring 70 also acts to prevent the sound cavity 74 from disintegrating during bending. Alternatively, 'a hard material may be used to surround the sound cavity 74, which may allow the tip 60 to bend without collapsing (crashing). The spring 70 may have an open-coil structure 'which allows material to flow between the coils during the manufacturing process to hold the spring 70 at the ear mold tip 60. Finally, with regard to the spring 70, the longitudinal compressibility of the spring 70 can be enhanced by inserting 27 papers. Description of the invention 0) Comfort when entering the user's ear groove. The vibration isolator 64 acts to hold the ear mold tip 60 in the body of the hearing aid device, which creates a permanently mounted tip 60. The vibration isolator 64 includes a tapered shape that helps to secure the ear mold tip 60 in the hearing aid. Adhesives can also be used to help secure the tip in the hearing aid. The vibration isolator 64 also functions to fix the hearing aid components. As shown in Fig. 18, the vibration isolator may include a nest portion 66 that houses and covers a receiver 26. Alternatively, the receiver 26 may be partially contained and covered by the vibration isolator material. An adhesive can be used to securely and acoustically seal the receiver to the ear mold tip 60. Once the receiver 26 is located in its nest 66, the ear mold tip 60 becomes more robust because of the sub-assembly created by the combination of the tip and the receiver 26. The receiver 26 is a relatively rigid member which is limited to the vibration isolator 64 and is enclosed by a hearing aid. The permanent attachment of the ear mold tip 60 to the hearing aid removes the potential associated with the tip detaching from the ear. The vibration isolation properties of the ear mold tip 60 are largely due to the compliance of the tip material. Because of compliance, the vibration isolator 64 can mechanically decouple the receiver 26 from the hearing aid. For illustration, the receiver 26 includes a film, so that when the receiver 26 produces a sound, the film will vibrate. The vibration of the film can then vibrate the receiver 26 itself. When the receiver 26 is rigidly mounted to the hearing aid, the vibration of the receiver 26 will vibrate the hearing aid and its shell. Hearing aid vibrations can arise from feedback within the hearing aid. The receiver 26 is mechanically decoupled from the hearing aid to reduce this feedback phenomenon. The compliance hearing aid tip 60 can absorb 28 papers caused by the vibration of the thin film in the receiver 26. Invention Description (1) This Receiver vibration. Therefore, the tip 60 isolates the mechanical vibration of the receiver 26 from the hearing aid 'and thus mechanically decouples the various parts. In order to obtain an effective isolator ’, the mass of the object (such as a receiver) to be removed must be considered. By reducing the resonance frequency of the receiver / nest system, the receiver vibration system is still reduced. In addition to vibration isolation, the tip 60 provides sufficient sound isolation to attenuate unwanted feedback and related oscillations during operation. Part of the isolation is obtained by the seal created by the mushroom-shaped tip portion 62 joining a given ear canal. The seal creates external sound isolation from external sound vibrations to the hearing aid. For example, the receiver of a hearing aid sends sound to the eardrum. If the sound vibration travels from the receiver and surrounds the hearing aid to the microphone of the hearing aid, feedback will result. The feedback path from the receiver to the microphone is attenuated by the mushroom tip. To prevent the internal leakage of the sound from the receiver 26 to the microphone 30, by isolating the nest portion 66, the soft material can completely surround the receiver, thereby attenuating the internal sound vibration transmitted from the receiver 26 to the microphone 30. If there is no sound isolation of the receiver 26, since the receiver 26 generates sound, the sound can be leaked by the output of the receiver 26, bypass the receiver 26, and return to the microphone 30 in the hearing aid itself. This sound leak will cause feedback oscillations. The surround receiver 26 is made of a compliant material, such as a nest portion 66 ′, which eliminates any space in which the sound surrounding the receiver 26 can pass. 3 The compliance material surround the receiver 26 acts as a pad to provide Good acoustic seal to the receiver, thus providing internal acoustic isolation. Or, in order to establish internal sound isolation, a soft material can partially envelop the receiver 29 ---------- pull-ups ------. 11 ------ ^ (Please read the back first Please fill in this page for the matters needing attention.) Inventory (β) device, An adhesive is used to complete the seal. Figures 19 and 20 show the tip 60 mounted in a hearing aid 78. FIG. 19 shows a hearing aid base unit having internal components such as a battery 22, a microphone 30, and an electronic circuit 28. The ear mold tip 60 is mounted to the base unit 'so that the receiver can be electrically connected to the electronic circuit 28. FIG. 20 depicts an assembled hearing aid 78. The hearing aid 78 includes a hearing aid base unit 80 and a tip 60. The tip 60 is clamped between two half-shell portions of the hearing aid base unit 80. The mechanical feedback system in a hearing aid can also be reduced by inserting a material inside the hearing aid. The material increases the quality of the hearing aid. This penetration into the hearing aid means that hearing aid components such as receivers, microphones, electronic circuits, controllers, and batteries are embedded in the material. The penetration material may constitute a sound barrier on the inside of the hearing aid between the receiver and the microphone. The penetration material can also be used to penetrate into a position inside the hearing aid base unit. For example, the input material used to reduce mechanical and acoustic feedback may be epoxy resin. The increase in the quality of the hearing aid can help to attenuate the vibrations generated by the receiver during operation ', thus preventing such vibrations from being transmitted to a part of the hearing aid shell near the hearing aid microphone, causing mechanical feedback edges. This increase in mass can also reduce acoustic feedback, by establishing-blocking the wall to prevent sound vibration energy generated by the receiver from traveling through the air inside the hearing aid housing. The penetration material can also increase the rigidity of the base unit, thereby increasing its resonance frequency above the typical feedback oscillation frequency range to reduce feedback below the hearing aid. 30 ---------- install ------- order ------ line (锖 read the back of '6 first, ;; I intend to fill in ^: the original) this paper Standards General Chinese National Standards {CNS) M specifications (210 X m public product) 463514 A7 B7 Printed by the Consumer Cooperatives of the Intellectual Property Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs <) Outfitting the inside of a hearing aid to prevent mechanical and acoustic energy transmission has not been previously implemented. A hearing aid made outfit makes any required repairs to the hearing aid extremely expensive, as the repairer must use the penetration material to obtain the component to be repaired or replaced. Therefore, because the hearing aid is outfitted ', once one of the components of the hearing aid fails, the hearing aid must be discarded. If the hearing aid is intended to be disposable, the outfitting treatment is an effective solution to the problem of feedback. Figures 21 to 24 illustrate a disposable hearing aid having a compliance tip 90. The disposable hearing aid with a compliance tip 90 includes a hearing aid 92 and a compliance tip 94. The hearing aid 92 contains a battery and all electronic circuits. The compliance tip 94 penetrates the ear canal and is connected by a flexible core 96. Attached to hearing aid 92. As shown in Figs. 21 and 22, the compliance tip 94 may be composed of several thousands of tiny fingers 98 arranged around the erasable core 96.
