Abstract

The invention relates to a focus potmeter, comprising a housing and an electrically insulating substrate, which is provided at a main surface with a number of contact planes as well as a resistance path. Said path comprises at least two resistance parts which are incorporated in a variable resistor. This resistor is provided in such way that two of the contact planes are electrically connected via a rotor, said rotor being attached to the housing, and via a contact spring, said contact spring resting on one of the resistance parts. According to the invention, a throughgoing channel is present in the substrate between said resistance parts, whereby electrically insulating elements are present in said channel, which elements protrude beyond the main surfaces of the substrate. By means of this measure, the dimensions of substrates for potmeters can be chosen smaller under similar electrical field strengths. Therefore miniaturization of substrates for focus potmeters and thus of potmeters itself is possible.
