Abstract

A selective messaging procedure efficiently distributes messages only to eligible cells and eliminates distribution of unnecessary messaging information to ineligible cells in a mobile communications network. When information is received in the network that is intended for a mobile station located in an area containing one or more cells, the admission status associated with each of the cells in that area is determined. A message is then sent to one or more of the plural cells whose associated admission status is determined to be favorable. On the other hand, that message is not sent to any cell having an unfavorable admission status. In order to keep track of cell admission status, a list data structure is established in memory for each area and may include, for example, an admission indicator for each listed cell. Based on one or more admission criteria, an appropriate value may be stored for each admission indicator in the list. When a message for the mobile station is detected, and the area in which that mobile station is currently registered is determined, a decision is made whether to send that message to one or more cells in the area depending on the admission indicator value for the one or more cells in that area. An alternative cell list structure adds a cell to the list if the condition is met, and removes a cell from the list if the condition is not met. The admission status of each cell is regularly monitored and updated.

Description of the invention (1) Scope of the invention The present invention relates to wireless communication, and particularly to a method and device for selectively and efficiently transmitting control messages for mobile wireless networks. BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In a typical mobile wireless communication system, a geographic area is divided into multiple cell areas; each cell area is responsible for a base station connected to a wireless network. And provide a portable wireless to each user (mobile phone user) in the mobile wireless system; wireless is equivalent to transmitting one or more types of information (such as voice through one or more wireless base stations and cellular wireless networks) , Data, images, etc.) Each mobile station 3 includes a plurality of channel units; the channel unit includes a transmitter, a receiver, and a controller. In addition, each base station is also equipped with an omnidirectional antenna to ensure equal transmission in each direction over a large cell area. Or equipped with several directional antennas, each directional antenna is responsible for a specific sector cell. Each mobile station also contains a transmitter, a receiver, a controller, and a user interface, and is identified by a specific mobile station identifier. Generally, a mobile phone user can be identified by another identifier; for example, an international mobile phone identification code (IMSI). The continued growth of mobile wireless systems has stimulated the development of ways to improve efficiency. The areas that can improve efficiency are related to controlling the signal signals from the wireless network control terminal to multiple cells in the network. For example, many call messages are provided to the mobile communications network, and these call messages must eventually be sent to such mobile stations through calls sent from such cells. Mobile networks can often be divided into many calling areas; in general,

Page 8 ^ 57821 V. Description of the Invention (2) Each calling area contains multiple cells. Deliver the call message to all call areas in the network service area "Each mobile station will periodically 'or notify the network where it is currently in the process of recording access as it crosses the edge of the call area' ^ If the call area of the mobile station is known, then the call information of that mobile station will be transmitted to all base stations in the specific call area. Each base station will also sequentially send call messages to each cell connected to that base station. If the mobile station does not respond to the call, it is either in the same calling area or repeats the calling process in a larger area. Therefore, when the wireless network control terminal receives a call request, there will be a relatively large air signal related to disseminating the call message to all cells in the calling area. In some cell systems, air signals can be carried across radio interfaces between base stations and mobile stations. As long as the base station receives the call request, it transmits a call message through the wireless call channel of each relevant cell. In any mobile communication system, the number of control signals that cross the wireless interface is a very important point of controversy; especially the cTdma (code division multiple access) type of mobile communication system. The maximum capacity limit of a CDMA (Divided Code Multiple Access) system is the maximum interference level of a system containing both expected and unexpected interference signals. If there is a high level of interference (for example, from a wireless network point of view, " now " a cell that is overloaded; the level of interference caused by the majority of the mobile stations being transmitted within that cell) 'cannot The need for additional beer or other wireless resources. Therefore, there is no need to pass the call message to the overloaded cell '. Even if the mobile station is located in such a cell, the paging demand for the related call need not be achieved' because the cell is already overloaded. The problem derived from the present invention is that under such a degree of blockage, when one or more cells in the calling area will not

Page 9 457821 V. Description of the invention (3) How to best send the call demand when the new paging demand of the wireless resource is allowed. The present invention uses a selective signal procedure to solve this problem. The selective signal procedure is to efficiently transmit signals only to the appropriate cells, and reduce unnecessary information to the inappropriate cells. Here, in the broad sense, “fit” refers to the use of a suitable cell or the ability to respond to information and information, which is not possible with inappropriate cells. When information is received in a mobile communications network (referred to as a mobile station located in an area that includes one or more cells), the approval status of each cell in that area is determined. Messages related to the information provided to the mobile station are then transmitted to one or more cells whose associated approval status is selected as good. Conversely, do not send a message to one or more of its related approvals .. The status should be set .. selected .. as _no .. good .. blisters. The message data may be any type of message; in an example of a non-limiting specific embodiment, the message data is related to a call requirement to a mobile station. Although any standard can be used to determine the approval status, in the example of this specific embodiment, the blocking status or the overload limit point is used to determine the approval status. A cell will be classified as having a good recognition status when it is at or below the blocking point. When a cell is occluded above the occlusion threshold, it is classified as having a poorly recognized status. The call message is only transmitted to cells in the call area recorded by the mobile station, or cells with a good recognition status. In fact, if the recognition status of the cells currently recorded by the mobile station is determined to be bad, no message will be transmitted to any cell in the area. In order to maintain the normal track of the recognition status of each cell, a register data structure is established for each call area in the memory, and it can include

Page 10 4 5 7 8 2 1 V. Description of the invention (4) Recognition instructions for regional cells. An appropriate value may be stored for each accreditation instruction on the roster individually according to one or more accreditation criteria. When a message from a mobile station is detected and the area where the mobile station is currently recorded has been determined, it is possible to decide whether to send the message to one or more cells in the area according to the recognized indication value of one or more cells in the area. . The status of each cell in the register is regularly monitored and updated. An alternative cell roster structure can also be used. For each call area, the degree of blockage of each cell can be detected to determine whether the limit point has been exceeded. If the limit point is not exceeded, add a cell to its calling area. Conversely, if the limit point is exceeded, the cell is removed from the roster. When a message from a mobile station is detected, the appropriate calling area can be identified, and the calling message is only distributed to the cells now contained in the cell list of the calling area. Not only is the status of each cell regularly monitored, but the cell roster is also updated. The present invention reduces the amount of control signals in a wireless network by not transmitting useless or unsuitable information in the current situation. This can reduce the data processing and air signal of the wireless network itself. At the same time, the data processing and signals between the wireless base station and the mobile station on the wireless interface can also be reduced. In other words, if the mobile station currently located in the blocking cell is called by the associated base station on the wireless interface, then the mobile station will naturally respond to a wireless resource requirement on the wireless interface to support paging corresponding to the call. The base station must then send a message on another wireless interface to the mobile station that rejected the request; because the cell is now overloaded. By not transmitting these unwanted signals on the wireless interface, the present invention reserves a small amount of wireless resources for more

Page 15 457821 V. Description of the invention (9) Base stations are responsible for one or more cells. The special area illustrated in FIG. 4 includes a position area (LA (1) -LA (3)) 32 and a UTRAN recording area (111 ^ (1) -〇1? 4 (3)) 34 which are shown by cross hatching. When the mobile station moves to a new location area or recording area, the mobile station updates the network based on its current location or recording area. LA refers to the calling area related to the core network. URA is the calling area related to UTRAN. When the mobile station is powered on, but is idle, ’LA is more suitable. If a mobile phone has established a packet data link, but no data is being transmitted or received, ϋ R A is more suitable. Both LA and UR A are just non-limiting examples of calling areas. Thereafter, the mobile station may move freely between cells belonging to the same location area or recording area; and these cells do not have to perform a recording update procedure. Therefore, assuming that the data is transmitted from the network to the mobile station, and the mobile station position is only known at the position or recording area level (C is not as good as the cell level), then the call message can be broadcast in all cells belonging to the position / recording area. . The location / recording area is the area where the mobile station recently updated its recording area. 'Note that the location area 32 and the UTRAN recording area 34 include cells coupled to more than one base station. As mentioned earlier, when the call is made from the core network; the call is requested to RNC 26. Usually the RNC will identify the location or recording area where the called mobile phone is now identified; for example, the most recent record. The call demand is then distributed to all cells in the call area. Fig. 4 shows that two cells that store the $ domain LAU) and the UTRAN recording area URAU) at the same time are in an overload state and cannot accept additional call demands. Therefore, the creator of the present invention believes that if additional call resources cannot be allocated ’to support those overloaded cells

Description of the invention (10)-2 In addition: “Hoohoo” is useful for sending call messages to those overloaded vesicles. Subsequent attempts to respond to the call by the mobile phone and the-' rejection all contribute to record / overload issues. Whereas, according to: J: the call demand is only transmitted to those in the call area in the normal state as shown in the figure ". For example, the call request transmitted to the mobile phone recorded in LAU) can only be sent to the fine bubbles 1, 2, 3, and 6, and transmitted by the cells 1, 2, 3, and 6. According to a first embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 5 outlines a g-messaging routine (b lock 70). Initially, the 'mobile station' can pull messages; the mobile station is located in a cell that includes a specific location area, and usually, although not necessarily, the area contains more than one cell (box 72). Before or after receiving this information (block 74), a determination can be made regarding the current approval status of each cell in the area. From the cell's ability to divide 2 new resources into a pager, the recognition status is based on the degree of blockage of a specific cell as shown in Figure 2. In addition to new paging, there may be—existing paging 'beer; when the paging requires additional resources, it is continuing, for example, wireless bandwidth resources linked to existing video links that are lightly connected. However, the recognition status can also be based on any type of condition or standard used to control the status of the new paging approval in the cell ^ new source configuration. Then, the message (or the information itself) related to the i-Λ received by the mobile station will be transmitted to one or more cells that are now in a good state of approval (block 7 6). The message can be any kind of message, but it does not include unlimited call message, measurement related message, approval control message, broadcast parameter message, short material message, etc. Conversely, 'does not send such a message to any cell that is currently in a bad state of approval (block 76).

Description of the invention (11) '" ~' 'The present invention is applicable to any type of information, and is applicable to any type of any situation. Taking the call message transmitted to a cell as a point of view, for the convenience of description, the following exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described. The approval status of the cell is determined by the degree of blockage of those cells. In the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the memory 50 in the RNC 26 stores a register for each calling area in the mobile communication network. Of course, this roster structure can be stored on some other control terminals in the network, such as base stations. Figure 6 shows an example roster data structure. The two demonstration rosters display the recording areas LA (1) and LA (2); each area contains six cells, each numbered 16 and the mother cell registration in the roster may be the identifier and recognition status indicator of the relevant base station. For example, if the approval status is good, the flag can be set to " 1. On the other hand, if the status is not good, it is " 〇 ". Other more indication plans for the status of accreditation are also used. As indicated in the example roster, the location area LA (0 contains four cells (1-4) coupled to the base station BS (1) and five of the two cells (5_6) coupled to the base station BS2 (1 5), and there are four cells (6, 1, 2, and 3) in 111 ^ (2). The cell (6) of UR A (2) overlaps with the one cell of la (1). Jj RA (3) The three cells (4, 5 and 6) are also contained in position LA (2). Now only cells 4 and 5 in position one area LA (1) are overloaded. And URA registration is optional. According to the use, as shown in the figure The non-limiting specific embodiment of the invention described in the roster architecture described in 6 refers to-Example Selective Calling Routine (block 80) /. Description of the invention (12) The degree of blockage of each cell can be determined. An appropriate recognition status indicator, such as a flag bit, corresponding to the determined level of blockage may be stored in the roster (block 84). For example, ‘by comparing the measured signal-to-noise ratio with other blocking-type variables’, you can determine the degree of blocking. Pin = call to a mobile station and send the call to rnc (party 86). The RNC processing circuit 52 may determine where the mobile station person is located or recorded in the C block 8 8). This process is to use the memory memory 50 in the name corresponding to the determined location area, especially in the location area (if any), to recognize the state $ in 'to determine and select the cell in this information (box 90). Then send this good call to receive a selected cell (block 9 2). Then the call message corresponding to this process reaches the current blocking degree of each cell within a few, and the recognition status of the corresponding location area in each location area is detected again in order. When at the position of the new memory 90 (block 94), the call message is transmitted, and the 'field cell level' known action is blocked, that is, no cell of call # ^ is transmitted. In this case, W can be in a bad state as shown in the example selective call routine of FIG. 8 (I'll now refer to the A block 1 0 0 of 钿 for each location area (block 1 102)). At the same time, a pin's roster is created. For each cell in the cell, the KNC processing circuit 52 may have a critical point for a location area (block 104). If the threshold is exceeded, if the degree of obstruction is exceeded. Remove the cell from the roster (block 1 0 6) "point" RNC processing circuit 5 2 will. If the critical point is not exceeded,

457821 5. Description of the invention (13) The RNC processing circuit 52 will add the cell (box 108) to the roster. When the RNC (block Π 0) detects a call to a mobile station, it determines where the mobile station is currently located or recorded in (block 1 12). Next, the processing circuit 52 checks the relative position area in the memory 50 and transmits only the call message to the cells of the cell list (block 1 1 4) currently included in the area. Therefore, as shown in Figure 7, the processing circuit 52 then determines the degree of blockage of each cell and updates the cell list for each location area (block 116). The invention provides many benefits. First, it can reduce the amount of control signals in a wireless network because messages that are not useful or do not perform well under current conditions are sent. This reduces the data processing and signal space signals of the wireless network itself. At the same time, the data processing and signals between the wireless base station and the mobile station on the wireless interface can also be reduced. For example, if a mobile station currently located in a blocked cell is called by an associated base station on a wireless interface, then the mobile station will naturally respond to a wireless resource request on the wireless interface to support paging corresponding to the call. The base station must then send a message on another wireless interface to the mobile station that rejected the request; because the cell is now overloaded. By not passing the call from the wireless network to the blocked cell to the first place, in the downlink direction, the interference level of the cell can be reduced or at least not increased. In addition, because the mobile station does not respond to the call, the degree of interference will be reduced in the uplink direction. Furthermore, at least an attempt was made to expand the mobile station in non-blocking cells within the calling area. After explaining the present invention from the perspective of a specific embodiment, those skilled in the art will understand that the present invention is not limited to what is described and illustrated herein.
