Abstract

The supervisory signal of a derived channel data reporting system is used as a primary, data communicating signal. The data communicating signal can be implemented as a single tone, or as plural tones having a frequency (e.g., from 200 Hz to 300 Hz) which is capable of being transmitted by existing telephone network equipment, including digital transmission equipment, and an attenuated level. As an alternative, the data reporting signal can be implemented at a reduced frequency (e.g., at an audible frequency of less than 150 Hz) to be compatible with existing, high-speed modems. Such operation can be achieved in a simplex mode, or in a half-duplex or full-duplex mode, as preferred. The data reporting signal can further be implemented in such a way that multiple applications can be supported by a single telephone line or switchboard grouping, by using different signals to avoid interference between multiple subscriber terminal units associated with the system. The data rate achievable with the data reporting signal can be increased to transmit increased amounts of data by increasing the bit rate of the communicating signal, preferably using modulation techniques such as quaternary phase shift keying (QPSK), 8-phase shift keying or discrete multi-tone (DMT) modulation, to yield multiple bits per baud while maintaining a low channel baud rate.

Description of the invention (1) The background of the invention is brief and the present invention relates to a data communication system, and in particular to a data communication that can be combined with the monitored and exported channel system. 0 Various data reporting systems are available To protect and / or remotely monitor homes and: Commercial areas. This monitoring practice is by placing appropriate detectors (contact switches, motion detectors, smoke detectors, fire detection detectors σσ, parameter monitoring devices). Etc.) at a predetermined place to be monitored ("User Industry J"), and the deployed monitoring σσ is coupled with the event contact panel to achieve the event contact panel configured to monitor the deployed detectors (response detector One of the status_change) determines the situation of the user industry caused or changed. In this way, the event contact panel can monitor the situation of the user industry and respond to the measurement of the deployment. The signal provides a local signal (example. Alarm) 〇 In most cases, it needs to remind the remote facility about changes in the detected situation ¢. For example, the intrusion detected by the touch sensor or the movement detected by the motion detector Means that someone is trying to break into user industry 1. Call for police intervention. Similarly, if J detects a smoke detector or fire detector status change, it means that there is a fire alarm t. It is called the fire department's intervention and the parameter monitoring device changes. Devices in the user's industry need to be repaired. This can be achieved through a communication link between the event contact panel of the user's industry and the remote monitoring equipment. This type of communication link is preferably achieved by phone because the phone-based system is easily available And it is easy to adapt to the situation where the remote report is monitored. The basic system to complete such results is to establish an event contact panel and a center. Monitoring a and unidirectional (so-called Γ unmonitored)) connection J to report (Report-I 11 1 1 11 II 1 _1 425 80 7 ^^ (V. Description of the invention (2) Report) Monitoring facilities Any detected change in circumstances. The monitoring facility then responds with an appropriate response (police station, fire department, maintenance department, etc.). However, it is actually found that this basic system is prone to false alarms and is easily disguised as the telephone connection is cut off (intentionally by an intruder or by breaking the telephone system). This has led to the development of so-called "supervised" systems to provide additional assurance in the detection of such conditions in order to permit a more certain response to such conditions. One of the industry-accepted systems is the VerSuS® system, which is currently marketed by Verakov D.C. Systems of Pennsylvania. Forsass System_ is also described in U.S. Patent No. 4,442,320 (James et al.) And is incorporated herein by reference. In short, the Fossat system is coupled by a "customer terminal unit" (STU®) with the event contact panel and its associated detectors (all located in various user industries), and by coupling a "scanner" with a telephone exchange device. Being a telephone company creates a "supervised" channel. The scanner uses the telephone network to communicate with remote monitoring equipment. The scanners in the central computer room of the telephone company and the user terminal units deployed in the user industry to be supervised, combine monitoring and detection signals to indicate changes in the situation, thereby reducing the possibility of false reports and the possibility of damaging these systems. -In order to achieve this project, the scanner is regularly placed (by telephone connection) at each user terminal unit of each user industry to be monitored. Although various types of signals can be used for this project, the Channel Shift Modulation (FSK) signal is disclosed in US Patent No. 4,442,320. These sampled signals are targeted at the user terminal unit, which monitors the event contact panel of the user industry,

Description of the invention (3) to determine the status of each detector in the user industry. This periodic sampling can also confirm that the telephone connection remains connected, and that the telephone connection is coupled to the user terminal unit and its related events. Panels and scanners. The user terminal unit can additionally communicate with the scanner (that is, two-way communication) to immediately notify the user of changes in the industrial detection situation. Although these monitored contacts can significantly improve the certainty of the effective monitoring prerequisites and Changes in conditions are effectively reported, but the FSK signal (and other signal 1 < signal transmission systems) is generated at a frequency that causes an audible signal on the telephone line. When the user industry phone is in non-use (the so-called "hang up" Condition) It is not a problem. However, when the user industry phone is in use (so-called "off-hook" condition), an audible signal on the phone line is considered unacceptable. In order to meet this limitation, a data reporting system is maintained. Supervisory function, when the phone is in the off-hook is in use of an alternative operating mode. In this alternative operating mode, pumping The survey and audible frequency range response are suspended, and the secondary tone is monitored to determine the status of the remote event contact panel. The secondary tone is generated by the user terminal unit and monitored by the scanner. The presence of a secondary tone indicates that the situation is not If there is any change, it is determined to continue to suspend any sampled response. When the situation changes, the sub-tone tone is cut off by the user terminal unit. When the sub-tone tone of a specific user industry is detected >

Description of the invention (4) The change in conditions is valid. During normal telephone use, there are secondary tones to confirm the integrity of the telephone connection. The reason is that the secondary tones (response to disconnection). The suspension itself constitutes a change in condition and requires the remote monitoring facility to take appropriate action. As a result, all the various phone usage models are monitoring the situation positively. U.S. Patent No. 4,442,320 proposes to use a 25 Hz tone as a secondary tone. In fact, the best results were found for 3 6 Η z. In either case, the tone is a secondary tone and is easily transmitted by the conventional analog switch equipment. However, in order to meet the requirements of this technical requirement, digital transmission equipment (so-called "digital loop carrier system") is preferred to replace analog transmission equipment. As part of its operation, the digital loop carrier system converts analog signals generated by conventional telephone equipment, including data reporting equipment, into digital form, which is more suitable for using the relatively limited available bandwidth (typically 300 to 3 2 0 0 Hz) to transmit a large amount of information. However, as part of this analog-to-digital conversion process, the analog signal is band-pass filtered. In fact, it is found that this filtering tends to eliminate the secondary audio (36 Η z) signal, which is used to supervise the data reporting equipment as described above, and is pre-excluded from the monitoring function of the next audio tone in the case of a phone disconnect condition. As for the alternative of the sub-tone tone and the channel information reporting system which is exported under the supervision of digital telephone network equipment, U.S. Patent No. 5, 8 2, 4 2 3 discloses the supervision signal as the tone. The tone has a frequency that can be transmitted by the digital loop carrier system *, but if it is actually impossible to eliminate interference with normal telephone use (including telephone off-hook conditions), it is transmitted at an attenuation level sufficient to reduce the interference. Such a supervisory signal preferably has a frequency bit known *

Page 9 425 80 7, ----- V. Description of the invention (5) 4 3 0 0 to 3 2 0 0 以外 Outside the z bandwidth, but still within the bandwidth of the digital loop carrier system, it can be combined bidirectionally Modulation (BP SK), frequency conversion modulation (FSK) and multi-tone modulation (MLT) sampling systems work. Supervisory signals with frequencies from 200 Hz to 3 0 0 Η z are prescribed for this purpose, but frequencies close to 200 Hz are particularly preferred. Because of the conventional digital loop carrier system, it is generally considered that it can pass the frequency of 300 to 3 200 Hz, but it is found that the frequency of 200 Hz to 300 Hz can be effectively communicated by this system, but in the attenuation standard Bit communication. This attenuation can fully avoid unsatisfactory interference with activated (off-hook) telephone use and the signal sent by the telephone company, but the resulting signal still has sufficient amplitude to be monitored by the scanner of the exported frequency data reporting system being monitored. _ U.S. Patent Nos. 5, 8 2, 4 2 3 further reveals that the basic supervisory tone used in the previous merger of such information reporting systems may be replaced by a supervisory signal capable of transmitting useful information. The transmission of activation data provides additional assurance that reports are reliable. This is in contrast to the more limited and roughly dual indication status (ie the presence or absence of the tone) previously provided by the supervision tone. Encrypted data can be used to further increase security. In fact, the supervision can be performed by the supervision signal transmitted by the existing limited-bandwidth telephone network equipment at an attenuated level, whether it is used to provide a binary status indication or to transmit useful information for a variety of practical purposes. However, it is also found that such a system may require multiple improvements in its implementation to provide more diversity. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Therefore, the main object of the present invention is to provide a channel which can be used for export.

The data rate achievable using the supervisory signal can be increased by increasing the bit rate of the communication signal to facilitate transmission of a larger amount of data. This is best achieved using modulation techniques such as Quadrature Phase Transform Modulation (QPSK), 8-Phase Transform Modulation, or Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) Modulation Techniques. This can achieve multiple bits per bald simultaneously._Maintain The Baud rate for one channel is as low as possible. The aforementioned data contact system can be implemented as a separate component that can be coupled to existing telephone equipment, as was previously common practice. However, if such information communication systems are required, they can be implemented as an integrated part of the equipment, with the result that additional diversified uses can be developed for such systems. Explanation of the invention (ίο) Figure 1 schematically illustrates the telephone network 10, which is known in all aspects. This is desirable because the general alarm reporting system and the monitored and derived access system described below must be compatible with all types of telephone systems and not interfere with the use of the telephone system. The network 10 includes a plurality of user telephone handsets (or equivalent terminal devices), which are labeled with reference numbers 1 1, 12, and 13 respectively. Each telephone 1 1, 1 2, 1 3 is connected to its designated local telephone line or circuit, respectively, and marked with reference numbers 1 4, 1 5 '1 6. A number of telephone circuits 1 4, 15 and 16 communicate with the telephone network switch 17. The switch is usually located in the central computer room of the telephone company or connected to private or public facilities (possibly between the telephone circuit 1 4, 1 5 and 16 and the center). There are 17 switches in the equipment room with local switches as the guide communication medium). To this end, all the aforementioned components are known and any number of conventional devices can be used for implementation. A particularly relevant improvement of the present invention is the network 10, which is mainly an analog design. The additional components match the telephone network 10 and effectively interface with the user's alarm system to telephones 11, 12 and 13 with a central monitoring facility located at the far end of the user's industry and responsible for monitoring the industry's alarm situation. To achieve this, the scanner 18 is located at a convenient location linking (links 19, 20, 21) to the individual user's telephone circuit 1, 4, 15, 16. The scanner 18 is also located at the far end of the user industry to prevent the scanner 18 from being spoofed. The scanner 18 is usually located in the central computer room where the telephone network switch 17 is located (that is, in the central computer room of the telephone company or related private or public facilities). The user terminal units 2 2, 2 3, 2 4 are additionally located in each user industry and are coupled to the individual telephone circuits 1 4, 1 5 and 16. Each user terminal unit 2 2, 2 3, 2 4 and-

Description of the invention (11) Alarm panel 25, 26, 27 communication (interface), the panel can be any of the various alarm reporting systems currently available. Each alarm panel 25, 2 6, 2 7 communicates with a predetermined sensor in the user industry for monitoring various conditions including security, smoke and fire detection, as well as equipment in the user industry and any other parameters. Such parameters as the user wants to provide the controller with this service. Each of the aforementioned components is known in terms of its specific configuration and interaction with other identifying components. The results do not require further explanation of these components. However, an overview of the interactions of these components is suitable for understanding the present invention. For this description, please note that only three telephone circuits 1 4, 15, 5, 16 are shown together with three strings of telephones, user terminal unit and alarm panel. But just for simplicity. The actual number of systems communicating with the telephone network switch 17 and scanner 18 may vary, and the number is usually significantly larger. In operation, the use of telephones 1, 1, 2, 1 3 is completely familiar. The telephone 1 1, 1 2, 1 3 remains in its main so-called "hang up" mode until one of the telephones 1 1, 1 2, 1 3 is needed. At this time, the phone is removed by the phone, and the phone is placed in a so-called "off-hook" operation mode. Communication then takes place across the telephone circuits 14, 15, 16 and is appropriately routed in a conventional manner by the telephone network switch 17. When an individual phone is hung up and not used (for example, by a modem, etc.), the scanner 18 has the opportunity to contact the user terminal unit 2 2, 2 3, 2 4 as needed. To achieve this project, the scanner includes a send and receive (T / R) segment 1 8a, which can send a pomelo-like signal and receive the response in the opposite direction according to the job sequence controlled by the scanner. The user terminal units 2 2, 2 3, 2 4 are respectively provided with modulation and demodulation (M0D / DEM0D) sections 22a, 23a, 24a, whose function is to demodulate the T / R section received from the scanner 1 8 1 8 a signal, and after modulation (encoding)-

Description of the Invention (12) The response responds to these signals. The response includes an indication that the alarm panel is associated with multiple sensors. The alarm panel is coupled to the sampled user terminal unit. The T / R section 18a of the scanner 18 is configured to individually receive the modulated response signals from the modulation / demodulation sections 22a, 23a, 24a of the user terminal units 22, 23, 24, thus completing Schedule a query. This sampled response is performed on a regular basis and preferably in a sequential manner. In this way, the scanner 18 can determine the conditions of several user terminal units 2 2, 2 3, 2 4 and thus determine the conditions of the associated alarm panels 2 5, 2 6, 2 7. The scanner 18 communicates with the central monitoring facility 28, which is responsible for the alarm panel 25, 26, 27 according to the obtained sampling response. A number of different modulation techniques can be used to complete the aforementioned query (grapefruit-like response). These include popular systems such as Bidirectional Modulation (BPSK), Frequency Shift Modulation (FSK), and Multitone Modulation (MLT) systems, as well as other systems currently in service or later developed. However, these systems are characterized by sending a signal to initialize the sampled response, and the received response will be detectable (listenable) by conventional telephone equipment. When the phone 1 1 '1 2, 1 3 is hung up, there is no difficulty, because the phone is not in use, and the audio modulation signal will not cause interference for other purposes. However, when the telephones 1, 1, 2, 1 3 are off-hook and in use, this audio modulation signal will cause unacceptable interference with normal telephone use (that is, undesired sound on the telephone line appears). For this reason, use the alternative job mode to monitor the user industry when the user uses the phone (off-hook). In order to achieve this project, each user terminal unit 2 2, 2 3, 2 4 emits a secondary tone, which cannot be detected by the off-hook phone user, and the T / R section 1 8a of the scanner 18 The job is suspended (deenergized) until it is not produced-

但於將多種類型電話設備關聯的類比信號轉成數位程-Page 17 G580 7 One V. Explanation of the invention (13) The degree of generating the sampling signal. Instead, the T / R section 18a operates to receive the secondary tone generated by the user terminal unit 2 2, 2 3 '2 4 = the phone is disconnected and the scanner 18 receives the secondary tone from the corresponding user terminal unit • During the tone, the sampled signal is not initialized and no sample response is provided. Take: Instead, the presumed alarm panel is braked, and the user loop is properly functioning without alarm conditions to be reported. The result will not interfere with normal off-hook use. When the scanner 18 no longer detects the sub-tone tone from a specific user terminal unit, it is assumed that the telephone circuit 14, 15, 5, 16 is spoofed (that is, disconnected) or an alarm condition (makes the user terminal unit Interrupt the secondary tone in response to a detected alarm event). In this case, the scanner 18 operates the T / R section 18a and responds to the change of the status of the user terminal unit in response to the change of the status of the user terminal unit (loss of the secondary tone number) for the status query (sampling) of the user terminal unit. Detect the existence of alarm conditions (telephone disconnection or actual alarm event) and notify the central monitoring facility appropriately. The actions associated with this pomelo-like response are most likely to be heard by off-hook phone users. However, this is acceptable to the user because an alarm condition exists and the user is actually trying to notify a possible alarm event as deemed helpful. The system disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 4,442,320 requires the use of a subtone tone having about 25 约 z. In practice, such a system preferably uses a frequency of about 3 6 Η z. These signals work well for their intent combined with the functions of the main analog loop carrier system ^. The reason is that such frequencies are convenient for transmission by such systems. But the development of telephone technology has led to increased use of digital loop carrier systems. Examples are "D 4 channel group", "S L C-9 6" and "S L C tandem 5". Le Tong (A T & T / Luxente) * Currently used by many telephone companies. But for converting analog signals associated with many types of telephone equipment into digital range-

掃描器1 8 及用戶終端單元3 0以類似方式透過電話網路3 1 (作業上可 為類比或數位)1與前文就圖1先前具體例討論之通訊之方-Page 8 ¢ 1 425 80 7 V. Description of the invention (14) As a result of performing filtering (bandpass filtering) during the sequence process, this digital system is characterized by a narrower frequency band than the previous analog system. Special digital systems usually intend to pass frequencies from 300 to 3200 Hz. Frequencies below 300 Hz are attenuated, and frequencies below 200 0 Η z are usually attenuated to such an extent that they cannot be effectively detected. 'As a result, about 3 6 Η ζ secondary audio tones cannot communicate effectively with digital loop carrier systems. This problem can be solved by substituting the following tones and combining them with the secondary tone of the analog system. The tone can be transmitted by the digital loop carrier system. The tone can be detected by the derived channel equipment, such as the aforementioned user terminal unit 2 2 , 2 3, 2 4 and scanner 18 detection (with appropriate modification for these purposes, 'signals with frequencies from 200 Hz to 300 Hz are preferred. Continuous signals and frequencies approaching 200 Hz The signal used for this purpose is particularly good, because for the specified signal level, it is found that this signal occupies the lowest possible bandwidth and is the least audible. In fact, the signals generated by these frequencies will not substantially interfere with normal ( Off-hook) telephone use * but sufficient volatility can be detected by the derived channel equipment. As a result, the above-mentioned monitored alarm reporting system function is maintained in the presence of the digital loop carrier system. These improvements can be compared to the previous system illustrated in Figure Completed with minimal modification. For example, referring to FIG. 2, the scanner 18 holds the T / R section 1 8a, but the T / ί? Section 1 8a is modified in the previous configuration, and will be described in detail later. A user terminal unit 30 is provided. Big configuration Similar to the user terminal units 2 2, 2 3 '2 4 in FIG. 1, but the modulation / demodulation sections 2 2 a, 2 3 a' 2 4 a are replaced by the transmitting and receiving T / R section 3 0 a. Scan Device 1 8 and user terminal unit 30 in a similar manner through the telephone network 3 1 (which can be analog or digital in operation) 1 and the party of communication previously discussed on the previous specific example of FIG. 1-

The to-be-executed BPSK function is preferably executed by Microprocessor II, which is configured for digital signal processing (DSP). Although similar functions can be performed using other technologies including digital and analog circuit design, the use of DSP micro < processors is considered better for reasons of diversification (making the resulting system largely independent of hardware). To achieve this project, and using a technique known per se, the BPSK transmitter 35 performs the following functions. Please note that the specific parameters (including voltage level, frequency, and grapefruit-like rate) associated with the following circuits are for illustrative purposes only and can be changed to meet specific purposes as required (in response to changes in the program planning of the DSP microprocessor). The numerically controlled oscillator 3 6 (NC0) is used to develop a predetermined carrier frequency. The preferred frequencies for this carrier frequency include 210 Hz, 230 Hz, 250 Hz, 270 Hz, and 290 Hz. The "sine table" table lookup method is used to control the phase of the carrier signal. An input data timer 37 is provided, which provides a polarity converter as an input to the data 38, which is to be transmitted via the telephone network 31. A data rate of 10 bits per second (b p s) is usually sufficient for this purpose. The input data meter and timer 3 7 are actuated in response to the signal 3 8 detected transitions (0 to 1, 1 to 0). The received data causes changes, preferably bipolar exchange (+1 to -1). Not a unipolar transition. The output generated at 39 is then applied to the "raised cosine" pulse shape filter 40. To achieve this, the bipolar data signal 39 is preferably reduced to the receiver symbol by a finite impulse response (F I R) linear phase filter-

The numerically controlled vibrator 46 (NCO) is controlled by the output of the integration and dumping filter 47. The filter 4 7 is a combination of a threshold detection circuit 48 and 8. Description of the invention (18) The data transition was received at 6 _5, and the carrier frequency was switched from a mark (1 = 215 Hz) to a space (0) in response to the action of the phase coherence carrier switch 64. = 190 Η z) ^ Phase must be coherent, so as to reduce resonance caused by instantaneous changes in carrier frequency. The switched signal is summarized in 6 6 and the output transmission carrier signal was developed in 6 7. The carrier signal 6 7 can be digitally filtered to reduce resonance transmission if necessary. Fig. 4B shows the receiver signal 70 used for the FSK transmitter 60 of Fig. 4A to filter and demodulate the transmitted signal. The receiver 70 also constitutes a part of the T / R section 18a of the scanner 18 and a part of the T / R section 30a of the user terminal unit 30, which are complementary (user terminal unit 30 and scanner 18 respectively) On the contrary, the job of the transmitter ~ 'and the receiver of 70 are preferably implemented by a DSP microprocessor and perform the following functions. The specific parameters associated with the following circuits are again provided for illustration purposes and can be changed to suit specific applications as needed. The low-pass (preferably 250 Hz) filter is activated to receive the carrier input 71, which is mainly used to exclude speech and other signals outside the input FSK signal range. The filtered signal is then introduced into an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit 73 to set the received carrier signal level to a known range. A 5. Description of the invention (19) Appropriate data error detection). Various changes can be made to the aforementioned system components to meet the appropriate system requirements for a specific application. For example, as previously indicated, the aforementioned function and the specific device performing the function can be changed if necessary, and can be combined with reporting alarm conditions and other situations requiring remote monitoring For example, a system that remotely monitors certain parameters. The type of data communication function used can also be changed, which itself requires appropriate changes to the aforementioned operations. Extra features can be provided to achieve special effects. For example, the system of the present invention relies on transmitting relatively low-level (eg, about -35 to -40 dBm) signals to reduce the audibility of a supervisory (200 to 300 Η z) signal placed on a telephone line. But this kind of amplitude signal is easy to detect errors when there is voice or other signals on the carrier. In order to reduce these errors while avoiding unnecessary interference with telephone use, the scanner's T / R section 18a and the user terminal unit 30's T / R section 30a can be set up to respond to phone calls The action of the network 31 causes whether there are additional signals on the line to adjust the level of the transmitted supervision signal. Referring to the transmitters 4, 5 and 70 of FIGS. 3A and 4A, this dynamic adjustment is preferably performed in response to the energy detector 85. The energy detector communicates with the output of the transmitter to determine the signal level on the telephone line. Bit. The energy detector 85 communicates with a level adjustment circuit 86. The adjustment circuit can increase or decrease the transmission signal level in response to the corresponding increase or decrease of the energy level-bit detected on the telephone line. These devices are known per se, and dynamic adjustment devices for cellular telephone networks can also dynamically adjust signal levels (ie, automatic gain control) in response to changes in the distance from the cellular location to the mobile station location. The advantage of dynamically adjusting the transmitted signal is the higher (stronger) signal accuracy

Page 24 425 80 74: ^ · V. Description of the invention (20) The supervision signal will not be found in the presence of voice, etc., and a higher level signal will be provided for detection by the derived channel system (improved reception) Device performance and reduce bit error rate). However, the monitoring signal must be reduced during periods of silence to prevent interference with normal telephone use. Similar effects can be achieved by adjusting the signal level alone or in combination with the dynamic adjustment of the signal level to adjust the frequency of the monitoring signal (between 200 and 300 Hz) to obtain the smallest audible signal possible. Dynamic frequency is useful in the case where two users communicate with each other. Both users have the user terminal unit 30 according to the present invention to reduce the possibility of interfering with normal telephone use (the result is that the two carrier signals have the same or similar frequency accumulation effect). The technology used will be detailed later. The relatively low level signal (-3 5 to-40 dBm) used to reduce the audibility of the monitoring signal of the present invention also adversely affects the system's ability to determine the hook state condition of the user's phone. , And then have a negative impact on the operation mode of the fixed system. For this reason, the system of the present invention preferably does not use a high-impedance source to detect a frequency change as shown in the prior art system, thereby indicating the status of the hook. Instead, the hook status of the user's phone is preferably detected by the user terminal unit (located in the user industry), and the contact scanner is part of the data (response message) generated by the user terminal unit. This sampling / response scheme can also be used to identify the loss of communication with the scanner, allowing the user terminal unit to respond to such conditions ^ to establish alternative communication paths (such as a cellular backup system) (then provide additional security measures), later Elaborate. In addition to the supervisory signal of the present invention, the hook status carrier signal is additionally used to allow faster detection of changes in hook status and alarm conditions. For example, it can be used to report that the system needs to detect the hook status bar faster than the data transfer rate.

P. 25 42 5 80 Five 'invention description (21) When the case changes. To achieve this, the user terminal unit generates a tone (for example, 3 1 0 Η z). This signal is sent continuously when the user's phone is hung up. However, no tone is sent in the off-hook state. The hook condition is detected by the user terminal unit through monitoring the signal level. Under normal conditions, the system of the present invention must not interfere with normal voice communications (including signals issued by the telephone company such as DTMF, F, and call progress signals, etc.) or other (such as data) communications associated with the phone network. However, when the system of the present invention causes interference with a specific instrument, the T / R section 18a of the scanner 18 and the T / R section 3 0a of the user terminal unit 30 may be provided with a device for identifying activities corresponding to the instrument, And the suspension of the operation of the system of the present invention (that is, the sampling survey and the sending of supervision signals) suspends this operation. For example, suppose that the system of the present invention interferes with data transmission by the modem in some ways. Appropriate devices can be set to detect this data transmission (for example, equal to the energy detection circuit 8 5). In these cases, appropriate devices can be provided to suspend the further operation of the system of the present invention (for example, equivalent to the level adjustment circuit 8 6 setting To zero). This allows the data transfer to be carried out in an uninterrupted manner. The system operation of the present invention only needs to be interrupted for a limited time (when data transmission is in progress), so that the downtime of the related alarm notification system is minimized. In order to obtain additional security, further steps can be taken immediately after the end of the interference event to initiate an inquiries (sampling survey response or confirmation of the existence of a monitoring signal). This is considered to be useful for instantly determining the status of the remote industry, while reducing the possibility of any data loss. As for the alternative way of stopping the system function, it can be used in conjunction with the scanner timing requirements to send short bursts of signals internally to reduce system interference. In fact, the bandwidth limitations of digital loop carrier systems have been found to limit high speed

Description of the invention (22) modems, especially modems operating at 2 8 · 8 kbps and above (for example, in accordance with the current ITU V. 3 4 standard modem). Since such modems typically require a bandwidth of 150 to 3750 Hz when operating at their highest possible speed, they need to exceed the bandwidth that can be provided by such a limited digital loop carrier system. It further tends to interfere with communications in the better range of 200 Hz to 300 Hz (as described above) and to send FSK signals. Attempting to bypass the bandpass limitation of a digital loop carrier system (using the analog "copper" loop) has not resolved this issue. For the purpose of compatibility with this high-speed modem, the aforementioned derived channel equipment can be modified to use a carrier frequency outside the applicable modem bandwidth, in other words a frequency communication at or below 150 Hz. The 80 Hz frequency is currently the preferred frequency for this purpose. As mentioned above, a channel system derived from multiple frequencies is preferably 80 Hz, 90 Hz, or 100 Hz. In addition to selecting the operating frequency, the same signalling and modulation techniques can be used as described above but at lower (selected) carrier frequencies. Since the activity of this modem also interferes with the (audio frequency) grapefruit-like sequence of the derived channel system, this data communication is also preferably moved to frequencies outside the operating band of the modem using modulation technology, which will be described in detail later. The aforementioned derived channel system uses a supervisory signal generated by the user terminal unit and detected by the system scanner. For example, the scanner_8 detects the supervision_ signal indicating that the communication can function (ie, the telephone network 31 in Figure 2 is intact), and the corresponding user terminal unit 30 has no signal (such as an alarm signal) to be sent. However, in this operation mode (that is, "simplex" mode), the user terminal unit 30 itself is unknown whether the telephone network 31 (telephone line) is intact. For need

Description of the invention (23) The use of this function can be "half-duplex" mode (that is, two-way supervision, each time one of the user terminal unit and scanner is activated) or "full-duplex" "Module (that is, two-way supervision, actuating both the user terminal unit and the scanner at the same time) 'performs communication to permit the user terminal unit and the associated scanner to monitor the telephone line. This also allows the subscriber terminal unit to issue an alarm signal locally (at the monitored industrial location) or using a separate communication channel if the telephone line is damaged (assuming it is disconnected). In order to provide a half-duplex or full-duplex dynamic monitoring signal and refer to FIG. 5, it is necessary to provide an additional transmitter 1 8b (such as the BPSIU ^ λ transmitter 3 5 of FIG. 3A) to the scanner 18 'and to the user terminal unit 3 (Γ Provide additional receiver 30b (such as BPSK receiver 45 in Figure 3B). This allows two-way communication while providing a means of exchanging keyed information during system initialization * and by the user terminal unit 30 during normal operations 'A means to monitor the telephone network 31. In order to support the full duplex industry, the user terminal unit 30' and the scanner 18 'must operate (send and receive) at different carrier frequencies. In order to ensure compatibility with the digital loop carrier system The current preferred frequency of the user terminal unit includes the 210 Hz, 230 Hz, 270 Hz, and 290 Hz frequencies listed above, and the scanner operates on a fixed 2 50 Η z signal. During operation, the system initialization is performed in an ordinary manner. The full-duplex mode is performed. During this period, the specific initialization code (data) is exchanged between the scanner 1 V and the user terminal unit 30 'that is being addressed. Description of the invention (24)-mode, the user terminal unit 3 0 'causes it to reverse the mode in response to the communication received from the scanner 1 8', as previously described. In order to provide a half-duplex or full-duplex working mode, the user terminal unit 30 '"request" scanner 18' echoes unique and encrypted data packets (based on a periodic or random basis). User terminal unit 3 cannot detect the requested packet, which constitutes a "lost contact" condition. "Alternative Scanner 1 8 'sends a stream of continuously sealed packets, and user terminal unit 3 0' when a properly sealed packet is lost. Loss of contact is announced at a preselected time (for example, 30 seconds). For use in half-duplex or full-duplex operation, the user terminal unit 30 'is preferably provided with a "spare" communication port 87, which is used when the main communication (ie, the telephone network 31) is inactive (eg Not working due to cuts in line, noise or other obstacles). The spare port 87 is preferably implemented in a wireless system (such as using cellular or other wireless communication based) to reduce harm. The preliminary system also reduces the involvement of the standby system, and in turn increases the security provided by such a system. The full-duplex or half-duplex operation of the supervisory signal is required for the user terminal unit to detect the failure of the main communication channel, and it is switched to a standby channel for further continuous work. This function is the so-called provider of single-work mode, because the user terminal unit cannot detect the loss of communication with the scanner (that is, the use of BPSK, FSK or MLT communication only has a sampling response, indicating that the single-work mode is lost Communication) ° The above-mentioned exported channel system is roughly related to the fact that only one user terminal unit (for example, one of the user terminal units 2 2., 2 3, 2 4) can communicate with any designated telephone line (for example, telephone circuit 1 4, 1 5 , One of 16) implementation of communication methods. However, referring to FIG. 6A, there are also applications that can be used to connect multiple user terminal units 2 2 ′, 2 3 1,

Description of the invention (25) 2 4 ′ Benefits from communication with a single telephone circuit 1 4 ′. For example, allowing multiple applications to be supported by a single telephone circuit 14 (such as providing alarm reports 2 21, meter reading 2 3 ^ and / or home automation 2 4 ′, etc. in a single user industry). Referring to FIG. 6B, it is also allowed to use a single switch panel in a group 8 8 environment such as Suntree: In a group environment, multiple user terminal units 2 2 ", 2 3 π '2 4 ”(as a result, other phones in the same group can be called Line, which is connected by the switch without signal conditioning or internal connection in the switch room.) In any case, contradictory signals (including the possibility of conflicting supervision signals and / or conflicting sampling / response signals) may occur on a single telephone line, The result is interference that prevents such installations. Such multiple applications can use different signals to supervise these user terminal units that can communicate with a designated telephone line. This allows multiple user terminal units to share the same telephone line, And it supports predetermined multiple uses. It is achieved by using a number of user terminal units (for example, the user terminal unit 2 2 ”, 2 3 ", 2 4 " or FIG. 6B user terminal unit 2 2 ";, 2 3 ", 2 4M) combined with a designated telephone line (such as Figure 6 A loop 1 4 ′ or 圊 6 B group 8 8) to work on separate carrier frequencies, the main It should work by selecting the frequency of the monitoring signal (for example, the aforementioned frequencies of 210 Hz, 230 Hz, 270 Hz, and 290 Η z). In addition, such program planning can be completed automatically (by a scanner or by a user terminal unit), by detecting a conflict signal, and by changing the monitoring signal to another non-conflict frequency (using a known frequency detection and switching technology) β-

Description of the invention (26) The rest of the operating parameters (such as bit rate, modulation technology, etc.) and the overall operation of the derived channel system are the same as the aforementioned export channel system, which has a single user The terminal unit is in contact with the designated telephone line, and each of the majority of the user terminal units operates at its designated (unique) operating frequency = the signal encryption sent by the scanner to each user terminal unit can be used to further ensure that the designated phone The multiple subscriber terminal units of the line communication enable only one to respond to a data message. The supervision signal of the present invention can be implemented with a basic tone, providing similar operations to the previous 36 Hz supervision tone, but there are also some applications where a reliable low-speed remote measurement signal can be used, with or without security features and derived channels Data output requirements of the system. Includes applications such as automatic reading of utilities (such as water, gas, and electricity) meters, energy management, home automation, remote mechanical inspection (such as photocopiers, vending machines, etc.) and signal routing (such as telephone or electronic components Messaging routing). These applications can be implemented using supervisory signals as the primary data carrier signal. Any audio signal (such as an audible BPSK, FSK, or MLT signal associated with an exported channel system) is preferably deleted for these purposes, and is therefore between scanner 18 and the user terminal unit 30 served by the scanner The communication can be completed by the data carrier monitoring signal. Hook state detection can also be deleted for this purpose if necessary, because the different operating modes that respond to the hook state conditions are no longer needed for these purposes. Any of a variety of known signal communication technologies can be used in response to the type of communication used to perform such data carrier monitoring signals (including BPSK, FSK, or MT technology or any other equivalent signal communication technology). Description of the invention (27) The open module can be coupled with existing telephone equipment or implemented as an integrated component of such equipment. A convenient way to implement a data communication system as an integrated part of existing telephone equipment is to “embed” the aforementioned system components and capabilities (predetermined combinations) of these devices (eg telephone exchange equipment such as central computer room switches, private branch exchanges (PBX), Loop carrier systems, routers, access multiplexers, etc., and customer industrial equipment such as telephones, modems, alarm panel 'parameter monitoring devices, etc.). This can be achieved, for example, by combining the aforementioned digital signal processing (DSP) operations including any required software and / or chips and associated interface circuits with predetermined equipment. When the aforementioned data communication system is implemented as a separate component and coupled to existing telephone facilities (such as the practice of issuing a supervisory signal previously), these systems are generally used for bridge (parallel) connection deployment at both ends of the (local) telephone circuit. For local loops served by integrated digital loop carrier systems, there are typically no options available for bridge connection in the telephone central room, resulting in the aforementioned difficulties. The data communication system (signal) embedded in the telephone exchange system can eliminate the need for bridge connections, thus eliminating the labor and costs associated with the "jumper" connection required for operation, and significantly reducing the installation time and costs. These improvements can be used to assist any of a variety of practical applications, which can benefit from ~ low-speed remote measurement / data communication (that is, bit rates of 10 to 80 bps) and two-way unaudible operations. Can interfere with normal phone use (whether monitored or unmonitored). For example, patients with chronic diseases often need to regularly monitor the values of vital signs (such as body temperature, friend pressure, jk sugar value, heart rate, respiratory rate, etc.), but they are not the same

Description of the Invention (28) It must be serious enough to require hospitalization. In these cases, these individuals may need to visit the clinic frequently for routine testing. However, the implementation supervision signal as the main data carrier signal can provide a cost-effective connection between the user's industrial surveillance equipment and a doctor's office or medical monitoring facility. If necessary, a “panic” alert can be included as part of this application. This feature is also particularly useful in prison settings where patients are neither expected nor physically removed from the prison. A convenient implementation of this use is to communicate the user terminal unit with the monitoring equipment to be used through the serial data port. These applications can also be easily implemented by embedding user terminal unit components in monitoring equipment if required. As for extra features, the spare port associated with the user terminal unit can be used as a wireless backup communication for contacting the telephone line if it is damaged in some way. For more critically ill patients, different architectures can be used to deploy the required medical remote measurements to meet the specific needs of specific patients without having to connect directly to the "outside" telephone line. In hospitals, nursing homes or other living facilities served by the PM system, the indoor wiring from the patient's ward to the PBX system can be used to carry the remote measurement signal on the carrier. If required, the PBX system can route data to a local area network (LAN) or local or remote surveillance facility. The best implementation for these uses is to embed the components required by the data communication system into the PBX system and program the PBX system to route telemetry data to the local area network and then interface with the appropriate monitoring system. In addition, the scanner can bridge telephone lines to the PBX system and route data to predetermined monitoring stations. In the patient room, the user terminal unit can be embedded in the monitoring equipment or implemented as a separate component. Another use is when the individual is notified of the receipt of "

Description of Invention (29) E-mail "without having to cast to the Internet. This point is particularly applicable to the case where the user's Internet is mainly used for receiving e-mail and dialing a modem as an access device. This type of application is convenient to implement by coupling a user terminal unit with an indicator device located in the user industry. The indicator device is then used to receive the signal via the user terminal unit (for example by decoding a personal code) when the user receives the e-mail signal. Such a system can also be implemented by embedding a user terminal unit and an indicator device in a user data machine or a personal telephone if necessary. In addition to notifying individuals that emails have been received, it is also possible to develop, for example, permitting Internet service providers, The telephone company or several other service providers report billing issues, emergency signals, or any other situation for similar purposes without the user having to invest in or otherwise register with the system. Once again, such a system can be implemented by embedding the system components in user modems or personal computers, local switches and / or service provider router system components, whichever is better. Other uses include linking high-speed modems (for example, technologies that support speeds up to 56 kbps on copper loops), which are limited by the bandwidth of digital loop carrier systems and switching systems. An additional disadvantage of existing dial-up modems is that access is extremely time consuming, and access to Internet service providers during peak hours -s is quite time consuming. These problems can be solved by coupling the user terminal unit modem (or embedding the user terminal unit into the modem), and forming a "control channel" by providing scanners (and remote terminal) with appropriate settings (or embedded) scanners . Control the channel (preferably encrypted with the appropriate account code, etc.) and then act to send a letter

Description of invention (30) to the switch, notifying that the call made is an Internet access call. Such Internet access calls may be quite lengthy or may be related to long-term switch resources. The switch can forward calls directly to the Internet service provider router without receiving touch tone receivers, output trunks, and so on. In this case, there is no delay in dialing or redialing, and the payee call is not applicable (but other charging methods can be used instead). Other (non-Internet) modem / fax calls can go through the switch in the usual way. In the digital loop carrier setup, the remote terminal can transfer the call to the "DS0" channel to skip the bandwidth-restricted A / D and D / A functions, allowing the V. 90 modem to operate at 56 kbps at full speed. . Another application presented is the remote monitoring of telephone company equipment such as pay phones. Barbaric sabotage, the use of counterfeit coins, and the disconnection of telephone lines have long been the ills of coin-operated telephone operations. This purpose can provide the user terminal unit of the payphone to notify the telephone company of the bad operation and deal with it. For these purposes, the user terminal unit is preferably incorporated into a payphone device, and the scanner relatively forms part of the line card in the central switch room. The generated signal continuously sends information about the status of the coin box and counterfeiting, indicating whether the coin box is full and / or monitoring the communication telephone line. Many other possible uses will be apparent to those in the industry. Two-way communication with data (including any of a variety of parameters, such as identification code, status conditions, telephone hook status indication, or several other equivalent parameters) is particularly well-suited for the aforementioned purposes. For the purpose of continuous transmission of signals by the user terminal unit, in order to achieve the purpose of line monitoring, the signals obtained from the scanner (that is, "sampling survey") and the signals provided by the user terminal unit are required.

Invention Note (31) confirms full duplex work. In addition to increasing the amount of information that can be exchanged with such systems, system fraud can also be reduced. For example, attempts have been made to deceive the system by replacing the user terminal unit with a circuit and causing the replacement circuit to signal the absence of any alarm condition. Such substitutions can be ruled out by changing the associated identifier. A further increase in security can be achieved by encrypting such transmissions. Encrypted data packets with better time-varying data are transmitted between the scanner 18 and the user terminal unit 30, allowing an attempt to detect the data carrier (or alarm notification) function that may endanger the system. In addition, available Basic purpose for identifying the integrity of communication channels ^. For the purpose of using a sample survey response, when the detected supervisory signal is disabled or an appropriate (encrypted) signal is generated, the scanner 18 is caused to issue a sample survey request, and the user terminal unit 30 will respond to the request. This type of communication is typically carried out in a half-duplex mode. For other uses, the scanner 18 will continuously communicate with the user terminal unit 30 without the need for a sample survey response. In order to transmit a large amount of data (either as an alarm supervision signal or a data carrier signal) in the low frequency band used according to the present invention, it is desirable to increase the bit rate of the transmission signal as much as possible. The better is achieved by using modulation technology, which obtains 2, 3 or more bits per full bit, and generates corresponding bit rates of 20, 30 or more bits per second, while maintaining the channel Baud rate as low as possible (E.g. 1 0 or 2 0

Description of the invention (32) Phase transformation obtains 1 phase per bald; QPSK modulation uses multiple 90 degree phase transformations to provide 2 bits per bald, and 8-phase modulation is used Provides 3 bits per bald for multiples of 45 degree phase conversion, which is convenient for implementation with reference to the following description. However, if necessary, a discrete multi-tone (DMT) modulation technology can be used for specific applications. As mentioned before, FIG. 3A shows a block diagram of the BPSK transmitter 35. In the described (BPSK modulation) configuration, NC0 36 uses a sine table lookup table to generate a phase-transformed version of the carrier frequency. This circuit can also develop QPSK or 8-phase modulation by changing 180 degree increments to 90 degree or 45 degree increments. It is convenient to change the compensation value from BPSK operation position to appropriate by changing > A new position for QPSK or 8-phase operation is achieved. For example, using a 256-sample table, skipping I 2 8 samples corresponds to 180 degree phase transformation, skipping 6 4 samples corresponds to 90 degree phase transformation, and skipping 3 2 samples corresponds to 45 degree Phase transformation. The following table shows the relationship between the transmitted phase transition and the corresponding data bit pattern.
