Abstract

A damper apparatus for use in a gas-carrying duct by being installed between duct segments has a flange (1) to be sandwiched, when installed, between flange portions (A1, A1) of duct segments (A, A); a shaft-supporting portion (2) which is of closed shape in continuation of an inner periphery of the flange (1); a damper blade (3) which is rotatably supported on the shaft-supporting portion (2) by a shaft (4) which projects from both ends of the damper blade (3); and operating means (5) for operating the damper blade (3). The width of the shaft-supporting portion (2) is (2) larger than a diameter of the shaft (4) and the operating means (5) is coupled to the damper blade (3) through the shaft-supporting portion (2). The damper apparatus may be made up of a damper blade (3) which is formed by cutting a metallic plate along a cutting line of substantially closed shape, the cutting line being marked on an outer periphery of the metallic plate while leaving those portions in which shafts (4, 4) for adjusting an opening angle of the damper blade (3) are formed; and a flange (1) which is formed by an outer peripheral portion of the metallic plate so as to be sandwiched, when installed, between flange portions (A1, A1) of duct segments (A, A).
