Abstract
A method for electrochemically treating concrete, characterized by applying electric current at an electric current density of at least 0.5 A/m<SP>2</SP> per surface area of concrete and at most 10 A/m<SP>2</SP> per surface area of steel material of an inner electrode between an inner electrode and a surface electrode and/or between surface electrodes, wherein said inner electrode is a steel material provided in the inside of concrete of a concrete structure and said surface electrodes are provided on the concrete surface, and the electric current flows through an electrolyte retained by an electrolyte-retaining material containing a hydrophilic material or a porous material having communicating bubbles on the concrete surface between the two electrodes.
