Abstract

The invention relates to process for the preparation of an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer and which comprises the use of a transition metal complex and a catalyst. The invention is characterized in that the polymerization is conducted using a transition metal complex consisting of a reduced transition metal complex, chosen from groups 4-6 of the periodic system of the element, with a multidentate monoanionic ligand and with two monoanionic ligands, at a temperature of between 75 and 220 DEG C. In particular the reduced transition metal in the complex is titanium (Ti).
