A gas-filled overvoltage suppressor having two bowl-like electrode, which are shaped from sheet-metal parts by deep-drawing, is provided with electrode connections in a simple way by the latter being formed integrally on the annular edge region of each electrode. The connections may project radially and may, for example, be part of external short-circuit device.
