Abstract

Disclosed is a trivalent titanium metal catalyst for preparing high syndiotacticity polystyrene, which uses β-diketonate as ligand and contains no cyclopentadienyl ligand and concurrently has high activity. The trivalent titanium metal catalyst is preferably being used with an activated transitional metal co-catalyst such as methyl aluminoxane and borate to catalyze styrene monomers so as to produce high-syndiotacticity polystyrene materials. The β-diketonate used in the catalyst system is a stable and cheap ligand compound can be easily synthesized at a lowered cost.
